Art in the Park

Our town has become a mecca for bronze sculptors - there are numerous casting studios. There are sculptures placed in interesting places all over town. I am going to show you my favorites, as well as those I don't care for. They say "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." This beholder likes the realistic ones.

The girls and I go to library story time every Wednesday morning. Care Bear is in school now, so it's Feisty and the twins. There is a park beside the library - I enjoy visiting with the young moms while we swing the kids. It should be very interesting when the twins want to be pushed at the same time.

This is one of my favorites, between the library and the park the wagonload of kids on their way to oir from the park with bunches of books (covered up by Fiesty!) - It was commissioned by a family in honor of their parents.

There is a a lagoon there as well, where you can feed the ducks or just enjoy the art that has been somehow very strategically placed.

Further down the path, there is a lovely fountain - there are concerts held here all summer long.

The city offices are just behind this fountain - one of the two buildings was the first school in our town - it was totally refurbished when many wished to tear it town. Instead, they created a twin building and made it a beautiful spot to work for the city.

Here is a closer shot of the piece in the courtyard outside of the two buildings, which are connected by a glassed in walkway. It's supposed to represent the circle of life.

Continuing our walk around the lagoon, we come to two of my very favorites in the whole city. These people are playing and singing a song about our town.

This one almost makes me cry.

Next week the girls and I will take a walk around another park. I'll share some more favorites and some not-so-favorites. Come and visit me and we'll go for some walks together.
On an entirely different note, today was the final weigh-in for the contest. I'm anxious to hear the results. Stay tuned!
