Be Back Tuesday
I will be flying to Minneapolis in the morning (Wednesday). My uncle, who was a missionary in Africa for 42 years, is home with Jesus. His was a life well lived. I will write about him when I get back.
Yes, it's sad, but at the same time I am rejoicing for him. He didn't know anyone at the end. He now knows where he is and he is known by his Father.
I am looking forward to seeing my cousins, their children, and their grandchildren, many of whom I have never met. The timing is right to be at a reunion of my mom's small remaining family. I also hope to connect with Diane, who used to blog on Partners in Prayer for Our Prodigals. I see her often on Facebook, but miss her here. We met up two years ago when I went back there with my folks and my sister.
If you think of it, please pray for me as I am the taxi for my folks and myself in a strange car in a city I don't know (thank you, whoever invented the GPS).
See you when I get back!

What a reunion for you Uncle! To stand before the Lord and have Him wrap his arms around you and say WEll Done! WOW!
Praying for you safety!
Be safe in your travels!
Sorry for your family's loss...but, as you say he is now no longer suffering and comforted for an eternity!
Oh ya...I know what that's like----driving in a huge city and not knowing to turn left of right at Oak Street! Yep, been there, done that.
You take it easy...have some fun and enjoy. I'm looking forward to your tribute when you return.
How wonderful to be able to celebrate a life well lived! I will be praying for you as you travel.
What a blessing to know that your loved one is in the loving arms of our Father! It is such a comfort and joy! Will be praying for your safe travels and yes a GPS is wonderful!!! Looking forward to your post on your uncle. xoxox
Prayers for you and your family
will be thinking of you (o:
Safe travels and prayers for your family.
Be safe and enjoy being with your family.
(((((Dawn))))) I'm prayin' for you!
The funeral was a celebration of Uncle Al's life. I have been privileged to see so many people I haven't seen for years. This is the irony of funerals.
The GPS failed me and sent me all over the place from the airport to my cousin's house - kept losing the satellite and "recalculating" in that annoying voice! But I made it. Beautiful weather today!
My deepest sympathies on the loss of your uncle, dear Dawn. As you say, though, he's now in a much better place:-) I'm sure it will be wonderful to see some of your family again and no doubt your uncle will be smiling down on all of you!! Safe trip and yes, the GPS is certainly a very useful item!! lol xoxo
I too am sorry for your family's loss. Hope you enjoyed your time with the rest of the family.
I will pray. May the trip be a good one for everyone!
