Maine-ly For Fun, Part 3 - The Lake Cottage
Kevin was happy to join us for 4 days of R&R after his event planning experience. We headed for the home of my dear blogging friend, Midlife Mom. As she said in her post about our time together, "This is what blogging is all about."
It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed exploring a bit of their beautiful property - - -
We enjoyed meeting the horses . . .
. . . and Kevin especially enjoyed an up close and personal encounter with Kipper.
My grandgirls would be green with envy if they saw this great play house for MM's grands --
MM and I hopped in her vehicle, Kevin and DC followed us to our home for the next 3 days - their beautiful lake cottage.
If you follow MM's blog, you will remember that the cabin was destroyed on the inside from a broken water pipe which ran all winter long. What an amazing blessing in deep disguise, as the cabin is now pristine, brand new, beautiful inside and out. We felt so privileged to relax and enjoy this lovely place. We felt like we were at a first class resort.
Kev fixed breakfast for us the first morning - what a treat!
The views from the deck, across the lake, were blissful.
The trees on the other shore changed colors every day --
The guys took the canoe out that first morning - forgetting to hunt for the life jackets. Fortunately, the neighborhood warden didn't see them out on the water.
A walk down the country lane ---
My favorite tree, at the end of the lane just as we entered the highway. . .
Have a great week - stay tuned for Part 4, Acadia National Park

YOWZER! Looks like you found a little slice of HEAVEN! Absolutely gorgeous!
I loved seeing your beautiful photos! And that cabin setting is just gorgeous and peaceful and my kind of place to visit! I know those days you got to spend with Kevin were so special.
I could stay forever in that lake cottage. How gorgeous!
I am so jealous!!!!! To have been there with you and L would have been fabulous! It looks like you guys had such a great trip and the time spent at the cabin is, I am sure, priceless.
Dawn, I am so delighted that you got to have this lovely getaway. What a beautiful place. I can't think of anyone who deserved it more.
The pictures are just magnificent!
OH, how wonderful to stay in that great cabin and have that view! The leaves were turning I see, what a treat!
And what a nice visit with Kevin!
The pictures are gorgeous as always Dawn.
I hope y'all had a great visit
You sure got some pretty pictures at the lake! Oh, that reminds me, I must find those pictures of the poor destroyed cabin that you asked for. My memory isn't what it used to be!
Glad the warden didn't pick the guys up for not having their life jackets on!! ha! I'm glad you enjoyed your stay at the lake, it is so quiet and peaceful there, especially this time of year. We didn't get down this weekend as there was too much going on but hopefully soon. xoxo
What a beautiful place to relax in. The pictures were great. Thanks for sharing. I love the cottage. It looks so warm and cozy. Glad you enjoyed yourself.
It's fun to see Maine through your lens. It sounds like your trip got off to a rough start, but gets better as it went on. Emily just had a field trip to Acadia National Park and she had tons of fun. I hope you did, too. :-)

Kevin looks great (o:
Wow, just wow Dawn!!! What a treat for you, and what a treat for us that you shared such a wonderful, ideal time had with your blogging friend. Loved it all. And breakfast made for you both? Ya, that IS living.
The touches of Autumn in the foliage across the lake is incredible.
OH oh....I see that my last comment was comment #13...is that significant?
What an absolutely spectacular place and view! How blessed you are to have the opportunity to spend time there with your two favorite men.
A trip to that area of the country in the fall is on my "bucket list". We had plans once but my step-father passed away the week before and the trip got cancelled. Some day...some day.
what a great red barn!
What a wonderful get-away for you! I'm so happy for you and look forward to seeing and hearing even more!
Waaaaaaaaaaaaa I want to go visit MM tooooo!!!! lol She's got such a beautiful house, doesn't she, it all looks so warm and welcoming. I can well imagine how much fun it was to be with the horses as well. Their lake cottage is also gorgeous and I love the way it's all been redecorated. Such a treat that Kevin cooked breakfast for all of you:-) I know that MM enjoyed your visit just as much as you enjoyed being there...now when are you two coming to Canada???? hehe xoxo
Just what you needed. Some rest and relaxation...and time with Kevin. I'm glad you got to see the colorful leaves in the sunshine.
