It has been a gorgeous fall here in Northern Colorado. But cold weather is coming this week - it's supposed to go from the 70s most of this past week to 35/rain/snow by Wednesday. I'm heading to Maine in a couple of weeks for the Teen Challenge fall banquet and some time with Kev and Angie - and a couple of blog friend visits IRL.
The girlies have been keeping us busy, as usual. Last Saturday we took them to a little free fun time at Dwight's favorite garden shop. First a hay ride around the property with a bag of popcorn in hand, on a perfect, blue-sky, autumn day.
Then some hot chocolate and face painting.
The littles and I had a great time at Benson Park, the home of 132 sculptures. We have about 30 favorites that we prefer to visit. There's a great children's section. I love the way the little girls hold conversations with the life like statues. We named them one day and they remembered their names the next time.
They love this goofy one with the huge feet, long legs, and tiny trunk and head.

So many kids have held hands with these kids that the outer layer has worn off --

Well, that was a ridiculous amount of pictures. But I haven't posted for over a week, and it's taken me 3 days to get this done, so this is a week's worth of stuff! Have a great week!!

Katie was feeding the little goat some grass.
But the fun wasn't over yet! The four girls absolutely love the many trees in our yard which create many many leaves on the ground. They make piles and mazes. The littles were contributing by the handsful to Hayley's pile. She's a perfectionist and doesn't really want anybody to jump in her pile when it's finished.

But, the Ring around the rosey photos are my favorites. No, wait...maybe the Giraffe. Awwww, shoot. Just all of 'em.

Oh and by the way, I seem to remember [but I'm not sure it's in the Northern part of your area...] There once was a park or a zoo of animals and such made from farm machinery parts. Or is that between the Springs and Denver. Do you recall anything like that? Heck, maybe it was in Wyoming just beyond the Colorado border.

The fall weather here has been beautiful - a couple of cool days but a true "Indian Summer" that has been great, although I know that is probably not a politically correct term now. The colors, though, not so much. Of course, lots of leaves still green but lots going from green right to brown. They said quite some time agao that the fall colos would be less than dramatic because of the heat this summer. I just wish that the allergies could handle being outside to enjoy the breeze and sunshine more though. Take care and enjoy your upcoming trip.
I just love that sculpture park. The girls look like they enjoy it as well. The bare spot on the ground where the kids have joined in the ring around the rosy game is very telling, isn't it?
The short hair on the twins is darling. Are they getting used to it yet?

Dawn, I know there is a special place in heaven for you and Dwight for the way you have made the 4 girls' lives meaningful. I don't know what they'd do without you.
Autumn has been amazing here. We are also headed for colder temps but I am treasuring this super mild October. You grand kiddoes are so cute!

We have a yard of leaves and the girls love them (o: so why pick them up. The snow will mash them down!!!
What a fabulous place to take the kiddos! Those statues are amazing, I would love to see them. Looks like the gals were having fun with old friends! Great pictures!
finally has quieted down a bit around here. Seems good not to have the house full of carpenters. I'm actually doing some normal things around here and loving it.
Can't believe we are going to be like ships passing in the night! I'm trying to figure out what the weathers going to be like in Tennessee next month????? I hope they let us know. I don't want to pack two sets of clothes.
I hope you get good weather while you are here. November can be cool but also can have some nice sunny days.
What a terrific place for kids!! In fact, I think I would really enjoy it myself.

Those were great! The Littles hair cut is so cute. I love the picture of the girls sitting posing next to the giant snake. Too cute! We'll have to head that direction maybe next time we go for a visit to my brother's in Longmont.

I love your new header picture. Almost brings tears to my eyes, it is so beautiful. I loved seeing the girls enjoy the day. Through the eyes of a child....we can need to appreciate the small joys, like they do.
