Friday Show and Tell - and Twin Update

Today I want to share my trip to my friend Ruth's iris garden. Ruth is my "shoe fairy", if you recall the story of her back and leg problems which rendered her unable to wear her many beautiful pairs of shoes. We wear the same size and she gifted and blessed me with 16 lovely pairs of shoes.

I went with the senior group from our church for this "field trip." It pains me to say that I am actually of age to be eligible for this group's activities, but it is true. We had a nice time - there were 4 of us on the younger end of the spectrum. It was a nice day off work.

I wish I knew how many varieties of iris Ruth has planted - she knows the name of each and every one. I took pictures of about 30 of them, and many more had not bloomed yet.

I am repeating the picture I posted of the twins in my last entry. They are doing so well - Emma is 9 pounds and Kate is 10. Kate is very interested in her hands and what they can do. Emma is intent upon rolling over. They are developmentally right on target at 5 months, not their adjusted age with the 7 weeks prematurity taken into account. They are "talking" to each other. Emma was upset and Kate put her hand on her head. So precious! They are such growing miracles.

All the flowers are beautiful, especially the 2 in that last picture! They have filled out so much lately. I'll bet the 2 of them are a lot harder to carry at the same time now! What an armful!

Happy Friday, and have a great weekend, Dawn. :o)

Love and hugs,

I can't help but think of my paternal grandmother everytime I see irises, She had beautiful purple ones that bloomed so wonderfully year after year. I like the first picture the best, it almost looks black, the color is so deep!

Such gorgeous irises...I have the ones shown in the first picture, the very dark purple ones. Ruth certainly does have a green thumb:-) As for the twins, they just continue to get more and more precious! When I think of all the uncertainties Kristen went through when she was pregnant for them, it seems like a miracle now to see them so healthy and growing up. xoxo

Beautiful flowers!

I'm glad the twins are growing and developing so well. That is so cute that they "talk" to each other and are interacting with each other. :-)

How interesting that Ruth has an Iris Garden. It must be her favorite flower! They are beautiful. I have some purple Irises, but they didn't bloom this year.

Does Ruth have other gardens? Because what happens when the Irises are over?

Loved the twin pictures!

Beautiful irises and beautiful granddaughters. They are growing so well.

I went to a retirement party for my dear friend and fellow teacher (we taught together for 9 years) last week. I bought her a brand new apron. She is to be a grandma in August, and still has 3 living at home also. She will be busy I told her. I certainly do not sit around.

You are gonna love retirement!!
