I hadn't had any solid food for 36 hours, so I overreacted and ate too much tonight, with my fairly new blogging friend, rainyd. That 's the fun part --
Rainyd and I became acquainted when she came over to catch up on Kristen's story when she was unable to post for those last weeks of pregnancy and first weeks of twin motherhood. We discovered a common bond when I realized she goes to school where one of my good friends, a professor in our program, moved to a different state to be the director of another social work program. It is truly a small world.
Rainyd had a trip to make and decided to drive an extra 3 hours each way in order to meet me. What an honor that was for me. She and her son and I had a short visit. We weren't at all sure it was going to work out, because I had this medical procedure scheduled, but where there's a will there's a way, and we made it happen.
DC made a comment the other day that got me thinking about dirt. Dirt is dirty. It makes a lot of work for us. It is a result of the fall, I am sure. But God redeemed dirt and from it comes such beauty. . .

We are often admonished to "bloom where we are planted." When we experience the beauty of what God and we can do together, starting with a bit of dirt and some seeds, we must realize that we can live in this dirty world and bloom, making the world a better place by "letting the beauty of Jesus be seen in us."

I'm glad that you were able to get this procedure done and out of the way for now. Thank goodness the results were all fine. No, I haven't had it done but know about it.
I'm really happy you were able to meet your blogging friend. It's nice to meet friends we make online. I have done this twice and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Oh, glad that's over with! My husband had it last week and had 5 polyps removed, which means he has to have it again in 3 years. He wasn't pleased to hear that!
Your state flower is absolutely beautiful! I worked in my yard today clipping border grass with hand clippers and tonight my hand is very painful. Overuse, I shouldn't do yard work! :)
I don't think I have ever seen a Columbine before...it is beautiful!
How lovely you could meet up with a blogging friend! I know what fun it can be! And a lovely way to counteract the rest of the day and the procedure!But at least that is out of the way now.
How wonderful about meeting the new friend. I love what you have written here about how God takes us "as we were" and turns us into something beautiful and of value for His sake!

I'm glad for you that you bit the bullet and had the procedure done...my husband had his done and now he is really bugging me to have it done...but I keep stalling it off...

What fun to meet a fellow blogger. That was really nice of her to drive those extra miles so that you two could get together.
Your flowers are just gorgeous! I love Forget Me Nots, they are one of my favorites, so delicate and pretty. I have tried and tried to get them to grow here but they always seem to winter kill. I'm going to try again this year and plant them right up beside the house and see if that protects them.
We are getting lots of rain these last few days and again today. Things will surely be green and lush when it stops and the sun finally comes out. We need it though so I'm not complaining.

I'm glad your procedures all turned out well. I'm getting to the age where I need to start thinking about some of those yucky things.
Oh Dawn, I know that "procedure" is somewhere in my near future. I'm not thinking about it right now, but I'm so glad yours went well and there are no problems.

I'm so glad you got to meet up with a blogging friend! This must be the week for meeting people we've already "met" online. I had lunch Monday with a friend I've known almost 12 years, but had only seen in person once.

So you had a colonoscopy. Good for you. Bev posted all about hers a few months ago, so I know the preparation is less than wonderful, but it's a very smart thing to do.
How nice of her to drive all that extra time to meet you. I'm sure it was fun. So far, you're the only blogging friend I've met in real life. I've talked to quite a few, but only managed to meet you so far.
I love our state flower. For ages, I didn't know it's illegal to pick them when they're growing in the wild, but you know, they're actually quite easy to grow at home if you just buy a plant. And of course, they're a perrenial so they come back year after year. The blue one is my very favorite.
I would love to meet you and some of my other blogging buddies one day! what a neat treat!

Glad you got a good medical report. I've had that particular test twice and I agree, the prep is much worse than the actual procedure.

Oh no, not THE procedure!!! lol I haven't had the "pleasure" of having experienced it but my mom has a few times and tells me it's not pleasant at all! I'm so glad to hear that all is well with you and no need for a repeat performance for 10 years:-)
