Not So Wordless Wednesday

I will be posting the answers to my interview questions from dear friend Linds in the near future. But first I thought I'd give you a glimpse of my week.

It snowed a bit yesterday - big, beautiful flakes. This morning everything was a winter wonderland - and quite treacherous on the streets and parking lots. I loved the look of the sun coming up on this frosty, 20-degree morning:

The moon was gorgeous last night between the trees. I wish I could have captured that. But I went to the patio right after I shot the sunrise and caught the moon heading down to the mountains in the west. Can you spot it hiding among the trees in the first picture?

The big girls went with Grandpa DC over to visit Great Grandma on a recent Sunday afternoon. Great Aunt G is the caretaker for Great Grandma - and is a "great" great-auntie. She had given them a huge bag of jewelry that she had cleaned out of her stash. They were thrilled! And they had a great afternoon with her - she's so creative.

BTW, Grandpa DC had taken them to W*l-Mart and let them each pick out a new outfit -

So this morning I tried out a new breakfast food on the girlies - oatmeal/banana/pears, I think. Do you think they liked it??

They were much happier with their graham crackers with peanut butter.

As a surprise for Kristen for the twins' birthday, I took them to a photographer who loves working with twins. It was the hardest thing I've done in a long time to narrow down 100-plus poses to an affordable package.

The photographer has a web site where she posts some of her favorite pictures. Check it out here. See if you can find them - there are several shots of them.

Final note - from the mouths of babes! The girls went to celebrate my dad's birthday the other day. Care Bear asked, "Grandpa, who did you like - Obama or McCain?" Dad told her that he really liked McCain. Care Bear said, "I did too, but I hope Obama does well." Wow.

Such cute girls!! Dress up jewelry is the best! They were clearly thrilled. How sweet that they have each other to play with.

Looks like the littlest ladies loved their lunch! :-)

WOW! That is a lot of snow! I'll bet it was gorgeous.

The girls look so thrilled with their new dresses and all the fun jewelry.

Looks like the twins enjoyed their new foods. I'll bet it's a challenge to feed both of them at the same time. My mind keeps wandering to the idea of feeding octuplets! Yikes.

Must go check out the photographer's site now. xox

I cannot believe how quickly all the girls are growing! Even the babies! But they are all so adorable....

Loved the snow pictures of the icy branches and the moon...beautiful!

I'll have to go check out the photography site...I can just imagine how hard it was to narrow it down those pictures to a reasonable amount! :)

Such sweet pictures Dawn. They are so cute. We'll have our granddaughters here for an overnight tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it.
That was a great idea to surprise Kristen with pictures. I'm sure she will treasure them.

I'd say the new fruit for the twins was pretty well received :)
I could see the moon in the first picture. Beautiful shots :)

Okay Dawn,

These pictures are priceless!! The older girls outfits and poses are so cute. And the twins, well, melt my heart. Not meaning to sound like a grandma here, remind the older girls to keep their jewelry out of reach of the twins as everything goes in their mouths. I have to make sure Hannah doesn't find little things. Cat food is okay though right? I hope you have a great day and I am praying for you.

Love and Hugs, Laurie

I just love your granddaughters. They are precious and look like future models to me with that fine jewelry! What a nice gift for Kristen... I can't wait to go check it out!

You are such a good grandma and I can just feel the love from the words you write.

I have the blog posted about the twins moving, if you get chance to check it out.

Sweet sweet cereal faces!!!! Too darned cute. I love the one photo of the girls in curlers too. And the snow scenes...tho I'm glad I don't live in that any longer...it's gorgeous in photos.

Regarding the troll collection, I've been collecting them since about mid 1970s through 1980. And they DID make a comeback about the 1980s but soon disappeared again from the markets. In the early 1990s I found a pair of them at a card shop and had to get them...they will be the last I show.

Have a terrific Valentine's Day in the Land of LOVE!!!

Are the big girls photogenic or what?? They look so cute and natural.

I take it the little girls liked their new breakfast!

I loved the photo of the sunrise on the frosty trees. It reminded me that our world is so frosty and cold, but then the sun (son) comes and brings us to life. It also reminded me of the Chronicles of Narnia.

Have the big girls seen the Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe?...or is it too scary for them at this age. They should see it when they are ready. Its such a beautiful picture of Jesus giving his life for us.

C got himself kicked out again today. I'm sad. I have not posted yet.
