Monday Musings

Here it is January 4, 2010 already! I feel good these days if I get one post done per week.

Believe it or not, it will soon be the twins' second birthday. Many of you prayed for them before they were born - it will be so much fun to share with you what we're doing to celebrate - later this week.

In the meantime, here is a peak at life with the "twos." I have said often in the last few days that they have been a tad behind in some of the developmental mileposts, but they are right on target with turning two! Their personalities are blossoming, their vocabulary is building daily, and they are expressing themselves more forcefully every day, if you get my drift.

This is an example of how Emma deals with a situation that she's unhappy about --

Katie expressed her disapproval of something, after a great breakfast of blue yogurt!

Their bathtime is sure to put them in better moods

I'll be back after the birthday party - I leave you with this beautiful view from my window this morning -- the moon rose above all the fog and frostiness - God is such an amazing artist!

It reminded me of a devotional from last week:

"A woman was tossing a ball to her dog as she strolled along the beach. The dog ran ahead, grabbed the ball, and plopped down in the ocean, waiting for her to catch up to him so they could do it all over again. I was amused at how the dog joyfully let the waves crash over him as he waited patiently. My mind wondered how we act as we wait on God. Are we patiently waiting, taking in today's blessings, the beauty of nature, the gifts already given us? Or are we anxious and impatient, telling God what we need?" (Brooke Pointer)

Have a wonderful week!

Haven't the last two years flown by? It is hard to imagine that the little ones are tow years old already.

Ah yes, they do have a way of letting everyone know when they are unhappy campers, don't they?

Beautiful view out the window. Is that the full moon that I see? It doesn't look as though you have a ton of snow right now, but I hear it is very cold.

Looking forward to seeing the pictures of the party. Have a good week.

Hey- we have the same blog template! It's so pretty.
I know what you mean - my Tyler will be two in May - unbelievable! Where does the time go?
Chuck and I were talking the other day about how when we first moved here - the people who are old in our chuch now - were our age then!
Scary!

What a blessing those two turned out to be! They will need our continued prayers as they grow up in this challenging world.

Kevin has come on my mind a few times this week, and I have prayed for him.

Dawn,

I can hardly believe it's been two years. I did pray for the twins before they were born. My how they've grown.

The photos are adorable. I look forward to finding out what the birthday celebration is all about.

Blessings,
Mary

Hmmmmmpff! I was here yesterday I think, and no new post. Now I come back this morning and you DID post. I missed it.

I would do the same thing if I was perturbed over life treating me unfairly...yep, go behind a box and sulk. That is too cute. Then, the eyes amongst the blue yogurt...what a doll-face!!

How exciting, two years now huh?!! Seems impossible sometimes doesn't it? Even with us bloggie friends.

Oh and that photo is stunning.

PS---Bud was in layers too! Like that cold, cold wind coming off the gulf will freeze anything hanging down/and or out!! [I crack myself up]

Have a good day dear Dawn. I checked the iris yesterday afternoon and it was still 'bud' form ---I just hope it blooms before the temps drop below freezing over the weekend.

Actually, Emma was doing more than sulking - she was having a crying fit! I just let her get it out of her system! So cute, though.

For a minute there I thought you had snuck into my house and snapped a picture of me...because that first pose looked awfully familiar!

I'm so grateful that you posted a picture of the risen moon! After you FB post about it, I had hoped you would - and here it was!! Just as beautiful as I had pictured in my mind...

The yogurt pictures remind me of Noah. He loves yogurt and insists on feeding himself, but boy does he make a mess with it!

Happy Birthday Katie and Emma!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE WEE ONES!!!! How super is that?!!! Love the idea of hearing them singing "H B song" in the tub!

Here it's drizzlin' rain and the temps are plummeting as I type. The cold front from Canada is supposed to hit Corpus by midday ---we may even get that nasty white stuff before it passes through....EEWWWWWW!

Happy Thursday Dawn. [and by the way....come on down. I'd love to meet you and D too!]

Good post! Love the moon picture. The picture of the kiddie in yogurt was cool because her face seemed to match her outfit in the colors! ha! Hope you have fun at the birthday time!

There is something magical about water, isn't there Dawn? I can remember days (during the winter when we'd been housebound for days) when as a last resort I would fill the tub, throw in a lot of fun toys and let the boys have a blast. Worked every time!
I love that devotional. I am not good at waiting at all.

It's hard to believe they will soon be two. Yet again, I can't believe it's the 11th of Jan. already.
I'm so happy all is going well with them and their development. God is so good!!
