Nothing Much to Say . . . But I'll Say it Anyway

It's been a cold spring in the Rockies. We get occasional days of sunshine, but most of those were accompanied by wind. But the flowers are perking along and making life more enjoyable. I know I take pictures every year, but I just can't resist. The daffodils are especially great this year - many new varieties DC planted last fall.

It's supposed to be very warm this next week - like our usual turning from winter into summer overnight - we'll see!

The new header picture was taken by DC with his new panoramic capability - we took advantage of one of the sunny days. I had some fun with my camera, too, but I don't take as good shots as my photographer husband. Based on the amount of snow on all the peaks, we'll be having good reservoir amounts this summer.

Many folks have come out here on vacation, driven by this spot on the lake on their way up to the mountains, and decided to move here lock stock and barrel.

On a totally different note, Miss Katie loves playing hide and seek with Grandma.

My sister and I have fun finding good books and sharing them with each other. She found this one - has anyone read
Room by Emma Donoghue? It's the story of a young woman who was kidnapped at age 19 and hidden away in a 12x12 room for 7 years, giving birth to two children by her captor, one of whom survives and is a 5 year old boy. She did a fabulous job of teaching him and keeping him healthy under horrendous conditions. I don't know if she had Jaycee Dugard in mind when she wrote it, but that's the first thing I thought of. I don't want to give anything away, in case you'd like to read it, but I just loved this observation after they were "outside" for a week or so.

In the world I notice persons are nearly always stressed and have no time. Even Grandma often says that, but she and Steppa don't have jobs, so I don't know how persons with jobs do the jobs and all the living as well. In Room, me and Ma had time for everything. I guess the time gets spread very thin like butter over all the world, the roads and houses and playgrounds and stores, so there's only a little smear of time on each place, then everyone has to hurry on to the next bit.

Kevin will be home two weeks from tomorrow for a couple of weeks - preparing with Angie for her move to Maine. A friend will fly in Memorial Day week-end to help them drive their things on the long journey. This is a huge step of faith for them - faith that she will find a job once she is there. She has had such good interviews by phone, but it isn't the same as being there. Please pray for them - this is a mammoth move!

Sounds like an interesting book, if I ever find a library in this area, I'll have to see if they have it.

Love the pix!

Your flowers are just gorgeous! I always love seeing pictures of them. We have a few things in bloom but not much. We are planning to put in 300 tulip bulbs in front of the church in the fall, won't that be beautiful!

That book sounds really good. So true how we tend to spread ourselves too thin. I try not to do that but at times I fail miserably.

I am reading Horse Tales from Heaven by Rebecca Ondov and it is very good. The author learns so much from her life with a horse and ties scripture into each thing. I think you would like it.

Safe travels for K and A!!!

Your flowers are just gorgeous. Isn't it such a welcome sign of spring?

We had a situation here in CA about a young gal who was kidnapped and in the same situation. She had two daughters during her imprisonment. I believe she was held for about 14 years before she was discovered a couple of years ago. The trial is pending for the guy and his wife who took her. Scary!

The pictures are just gorgeous. What a setting!

Prayers for the giant leap of faith for the kids.

I'm so happy that K and A will get to be together again, too. Giant steps of faith taken together can be a really good thing-- even if the outcome is a major challenge.

Have you read "The Help"? The author's name escapes me at the moment. Very, very good read.

Wow that is a mammoth move. So that book you mention is a fiction, right?

Looks like you have a beautiful crop of flowers!!! We have some pretty lilies here and the magnolias have just begun blooming.

Cathleen and I both read Room and enjoyed it very much. We're both reading Water for Elephants now.

You live in such a beautiful part of the country.

Wow, Khai plays hide-and-seek just like Katie does! He covers his eyes and yells, "Where's Khai?!" Such a fun age!

I've heard about that book. It sounds intense, but I'll give it a try.

You know I'm praying for your kids.

I will pray for Kevin and Angie, tonight.

The flowers are beautiful. Everything over here is bigger and taller this year. Probably from all the rain we had.

No post yet. (In a post slump)

Your flowers are beautiful. Most of my daffodils did not bloom this year - I thought it was because it was so dry this winter. I will pray for your son and wife - that is a long move. Looking forward to a warm weekend.

I love to see your Spring flowers! It makes my day. :-) We have had a cold Spring as well. We had a cold, rainy day here today.

I hope Kevin and Angie have a safe trip to Maine! Angie knows to bring lots of layers, right??? :-)

I just got a new camera, so I am playing around with it and hopefully will be able to take really great pictures soon.

I hope you had a great Mother's Day!
