Back From Our "Peachy" Georgia Get-Away

We arrived at our house around 11:00 last night. I'm glad I had the foresight to take today off to get caught up and ready to hit the ground running tomorrow, answering all the bult-up questions and calming graduation trauma and drama. I don't think I could have faced it today!

I have so much to show and tell that I believe I will have to divide it up into about 3 posts. Besides that, Kevin and I will be working on Part VIII of our story. And on top of that, I told Groovy Old Lady that I was willing to be randomized. She has come up with some great questions, and I'll have to get busy formulating my answers to them. Oops - I need another week off to blog!

I took some great shots of my spring flowers before we left, in case they got frozen out while we were gone. Fortunately, they just had rain here, which is a good thing. I'll share a few of those pictures before I go any further.

We spent one day in Savannah and had a lovely lunch along the riverfront. But it was not until after lunch that I realized Barb's personal friend (Paula Deen) has her restaurant in Savannah, not Atlanta. That's how much I know!! We asked around and found it. Even if we'd known ahead of time, we couldn't have eaten there for lunch - too popular! For dinner they start lining up around 3:00 and the great lady comes out, and they begin taking reservations for dinner. But check this out:

I gained weight just reading that menu!! But how yummy it all sounds. I think if you double click you'll be able to read the menu, if you can't already.

On Saturday, I went to the Botanical Gardens in Athens where Brenda and I had a chance to sit in this lovely location and get acquainted a bit. What a blessing.

That all for now, folks. I'll be back with much more!

About the only thing you could have posted that would have made me greener with envy is a shot of the ocean, Dawn. Look at you standing there in Paula's doorway!

And Brenda! I'm tickled pink you two got to meet each other.
What a gorgeous place to meet and I just love the photos of you two.

Wow. What a nice trip. And as much as I love Paula, I'm not sure I'd get in line for dinner at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. You know, I think she's on tour right now, for her new book. She must be since Susan in Texas was going to be getting my book signed this weekend. So you probably wouldn't have seen her anyway.

OK, ready for the next part of this trip - why do I think you're going to stick an ocean shot on your blog. LOL

Wow, have you been busy having fun or what! I have so much catching up to do with you! But, in the morning I fly to San Francisco to see my angel of a daughter Timoni - although I can blog on her computer. Sweet. Wish I could have been on that trip with you ☺

You photos are fabulous, just fabulous! Hugs!

Welcome home Dawn. Your flowers are lovely. I think God did such a special thing when he created flowers :)
The trip looks just wonderful. I am way behind on all the Paula Deen stuff. I guess it's because we don't have cable (I keep telling my husband we are totally out of touch. We don't even have cell phones!). However, the menu is certainly tempting.
How nice you got to spend time with Brenda. You picked a gorgeous spot.
Waiting to hear more.

You're back already??? Vacations go by too quick! I'm glad you had a nice time and took an extra day off before heading back to work.

Beautiful flowers!

Your flowers are much livelier (and lovelier) than ours. Thanks for posting those. I really enjoyed visiting with you! We will definitely have to get together again. I got home Saturday evening and my computer froze up right in the middle of my post. I still don't have my photos developed. Soon. I hope.

Care Bear was looking at my post today and when she saw the one white daffodil in that shot she said, "It looks like it's praying." What a prayer warrior she is already at 4!

I'm jealous, Dawn!

Your Spring flowers are gorgeous.

You went to Paula Deen's restaurant - okay, so you didn't actually eat there, but still!

And you got to meet Brenda! ;D

Welcome home. Now maybe you can rest up from your vacation, LOL!

Love and hugs,

Diane

I am glad you are home and what exciting pictures. Paula's resturant... I would love to just see it. What kind of camera did you use for those beautiful flowers? They are so colorful and crisp. Thanks for sharing and I am glad you had such a great trip.

I love wild violets.

Take your time getting caught up. You can randomly post random answers later!

That menu DOES look good...and I was planning on PB & J tonight. Sigh.

The pictures of the flowers are just gorgeous! I particularly like the Johnny Jumpups, can't think of the botanical name, something like violas????? What kind of camera do you use, the pictures are just so crisp and nice. Glad you got to meet Brenda and go see Paula's restaurant. I wouldn't have stood in line that long either but it would be tempting by the looks of the menu!

Wow...first of all, I LOVE the flower photos! They are truly spectacular, Dawn! That first one is not a flower I'm even familiar with...so stunning!

And then you go and post all these great pictures from your trip! Paula's place...and meeting Brenda!
What an amazing you trip you must have had! I have always wanted to visit Savannah. (When we lived across the country in VA. we almost planned a trip down there, too!)

I'm just loving these pictures...and yes, I know that you need a whole week to do just about nothing but blogging after a trip! ;)

Hi Grandma Dawn,
You came to my side of the country. I want to visit Savannah so bad. My mother is going in June to visit the airplane museum. Her father was a fighter pilot in WWII and died and there is some good historical stuff there about that. The pictures are beautiful you posted. I am sorry I don't get by your blog enough. I have to really carve out time to do a post on my blog and wish I had more time to get around to my webfriends' blogs. I know it is a season that will pass quickly with the kiddos being young so I can be patient. It is always great to hear from you!

Who needs celebrities when we've got "MIRLing" bloggy buddies?

Thanks for posting pictures. ;)
