Jesus the Hope

KPJARA at Can You Hear Me Now? challenged me to write about "5 things I Dig About Jesus."

This should not be hard. In fact, if we love Jesus, it should be the easiest thing to do - the hard thing will be limiting it to five!

My mom tells me that I asked her to pray with me to accept Jesus into my heart when I was 3 years old - the age Feisty is now. I wish I remembered that day! What I do remember is that I never wanted to do anything else but please Jesus. I have not been a perfect Christian by any means. I have struggled with the fact that I don't remember that day. I have wanted to point back to the place I met Jesus face to face. But I rejoice every day that He spared me from the heartache of deep sin because I accepted Him so early in my life. So here is my list:

  1. I don't know about tomorrow, I just live from day to day.
    I don't borrow from its sunshine, For its skies may turn to gray.
    I don't worry o'er the future, For I know what Jesus said;
    And today I'll walk beside Him, For He knows what is ahead.
    Many things about tomorrow I don't seem to understand;
    But I know who holds tomorrow, And I know Who holds my hand.

  2. God sent His Son - they called Him Jesus;
    He came to love, heal and forgive;
    He lived and died to buy my pardon;
    An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.

    Because He lives, I can face tomorrow;
    Because He lives, all fear is gone.
    Because I know He holds the future
    And life is worth the living - just because He lives.

  3. When peace like a river attendeth my way,
    When sorrows like sea bellows roll,
    Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say,
    "It is well, it is well with my soul."

    Tho' Satan should buffet, tho' trials should come,
    Let this blest assurance control,
    That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
    And hath shed His own blood for my soul.

    It is well --- It is well ---
    It is well --- It is well with my soul!

  4. Jesus is all the world to me, my life, my joy, my all;
    He is my strength from day to day, without Him I would fall.
    When I am sad, to Him I go, no other one can cheer me so;
    When I am sad, He makes me glad, He’s my Friend.

    Jesus is all the world to me, my Friend in trials sore;
    I go to Him for blessings, and He gives them over and o’er.
    He sends the sunshine and the rain, He sends the harvest’s golden grain;
    Sunshine and rain, harvest of grain, He’s my Friend.

    Jesus is all the world to me, and true to Him I’ll be;
    O how could I this Friend deny, when He’s so true to me?
    Following Him I know I’m right, He watches o’er me day and night;
    Following Him by day and night, He’s my Friend.

    Jesus is all the world to me, I want no better Friend;
    I trust Him now, I’ll trust Him when life’s fleeting days shall end.
    Beautiful life with such a Friend, beautiful life that has no end;
    Eternal life, eternal joy, He’s my Friend.

  5. Coming again, Coming again
    May be morning, may be noon
    May be evening, and may be soon
    Coming again, Coming again
    JESUS IS COMING AGAIN!

Is anybody surprised that I used songs to express my reasons that I "dig" Jesus?

I'd love to have the following people tell us their 5 reasons:

Diane J

Linda

Tammy

Diane

Morning Glory

Okay, Dawn. I'll get to it soon. Clemntine already tagged me for a meme about my favorite restaurants but I'll try to get to this one soon.

Hmm...5 things I dig about Jesus....

And I wasn't at all surprised that you chose songs to express your reasons!

Love and hugs,

Diane

Wow, that is beautifully done. It would be so hard to narrow it down to 5 things. He has been so good to me and I have gotten deeper with my walk with Jesus since I have had my children. Thanks for stopping by. It means a lot to me. My post was on June 5th and not May 22nd. I started it on the 22nd, but didn't finish it till the 5th. My blog really has become my Baby Book. It is so much easier to type it all out than to fill in a book. I plan to print out my posts on put them in a book for my boys. Again, thanks for continuing to check on me and give me encouragement. Be blessed, Emily

Loved how you used the songs, Dawn!

I hope to do this one...Thanks for the tag! :)
I'm not sure when though...I still have another to do, and just remembered I completely forgot about the restaurant one I was tagged for!

I think it is neat that asked Jesus into your heart when you were three...my littlest did this last year at age four! :)

I'm more tired than I thought. I just lost my comment!!!
I love the way you answered this one Dawn. It is so creative and so absolutely perfect. I love every one of those precious songs.
I'll try to do this either this afternoon or tomorrow. We got home very late last night, and I'm just plain pooped!! I can't tell you how I admire you for doing this for Kristen every day. I am way out of "children shape".
Have a blessed day Dawn.

I have that song written in my Bible,really, along with The Battle Belongs to the Lord. By rereading them I can gain strenght and new insights and pray for the issues I am dealing with - one being my prodigal daughter. God is my strenght, without God and my faith I don't know what I would do. I do not know how anyone can survive without Him.
Great post, thank you.
