Thanks for Your Prayers!

The smile you see on Feisty's face in the picture at the end of the last post came back this afternoon. What a relief! When I connected with her at noon today, she was still quite feverish. Kristen gave her a dose of Motrin and we headed for home. She fell asleep in the car, and slept through the commotion of picking up the other two kids, the two kids they had spent the morning with being in the van as well, and the ride home. She woke up enough to know she was being carried into the house. I dug out her Sleeping Beauty sleeping bag and she promptly conked out on the couch for at least 3 hours. Just what she needed most.

When she woke up from that long nap, she came in to where I was and said, "Hi, Grandma!" just as perky as can be. I was so thrilled to hear that cute little voice. She had a nice bath, we washed her hair, then she wanted some cereal. She sat and ate cereal and read a new book someone gave her today. Well, she doesn't read, you know, but she "read" the pictures to herself.

She got better and better as the afternoon wore on. She was cool to the touch (I MUST get a new thermometer!). When Mommy and Daddy arrived, she had the biggest smiles for them and hugs all around.

The doctor did check in with Mike this afternoon, though, to say that the blood test found infection, which had of course gone to her kidneys. So they want to see her again tomorrow afternoon. Please don't quit praying. I believe in all of your prayers. I have seen the difference they have made so many times in the last year.

The end of another work week is upon us already - I hope you all have great plans for the week-end. I'll be heading for our denomination's convention Sunday afternoon and return Tuesday afternoon. Wednesday afternoon Mom, Dad, my sister, and I fly to Minneapolis where I will have a whirlwind of visits with many people from my past - more on that, you can be sure. One of those visits, with a new previously-unmet-friend will be with Diane. I can't wait.

I hope to do at least one more post before then. But until then, please keep praying for Feisty. Thanks again.

Oh, Praise the Lord! I'm assuming that the antibiotics and the prayers are working. :-)

Hope she just keeps improving.

If you don't post again before you leave, take care and safe journey, my friend. :-)

Love and hugs,

Diane

I said a prayer for Feisty tonight. You are one busy grandmother! I'm so glad she is doing better.

Thank you for sending me over to Diane's. She will be wrapped in prayer. I'm so glad that you will beable to visit her in person. I'm sure it will be such an encouragement to her.

Over here...I'm trying to take one day at a time and not worry about the lose ends of the future. There are so many! Parenting a prodigal is emotionally exhausting. But when I lean on God, I do a lot better.

And she ate TWO pieces of pizza later that evening, some more chicken noodle soup, and went potty....#2 which she needed to do badly. Her appetite seems to have returned.

I've been scarce in the comments lately, but I've kept up on reading all of your posts. I've been missing Kristen's blog, and I wanted to let y'all know that I will be in your vicinity next week. My email is Clemntine AT gmail DOT com. Let me know if I can add MIRL to my List of Fun Things I'm Going To Do Next Week.

Feisty. When I scrolled down quickly, I thought, could she be writing about the dog? I don't notice the smile on her face! :)

I finally figured it out after she woke up from her nap and said, "Hi grandma!" that you were referring to the cutie at the END of the last post. (I should read slower!)

I will pray for Feisty.

God bless.

Dawn,

I'm so glad that Feisty is feeling better. And I'm so glad the Doctors are on top of this...a kidney infection can be scary! But, we've got her covered in prayers...so no worry!!!!

And...I can't wait until Friday!!!!! Safe travels...and CALL ME when you're in Minnesota. Ah--nothing like a journey back to your childhood!
