Under the Weather

EDIT: I did not go to work today - in fact, I slept through the night with the help of Kroger's brand of Tylenol PM. I have no voice this morning, though I have tried to leave messages with various people that I am not coming in. I am the opener of the office, and staying home in the morning is a huge complication, when it is me that has to stay home. I am the one who is always there, always on time, taking the phone calls and e-mails from those who are sick, whose kids are sick, who decide to take a day off for the fun of it. But when I need an unscheduled day off, it is a nightmare - I can reach nobody! It's even a hassle when I take a planned day off. I hope they hire someone really reliable to be there on time when I leave in August! I fell really lousy. Going back to sleep now! Thanks to so many for stopping by - I really appreciate your prayers. I cannot indeed afford time to be sick right now - too many people waiting to hear that they've been admitted. Or that they haven't - glad I don't have to take those follow-up calls! Talk later -- if I get my voice back!

I haven't felt good all week-end, but just keep going and going and going. Stopped, though, and didn't make it to church. I really missed it - special services, one of my favorite speakers, a choir song I love.

I went to work - I have to keep going and going and going - too much to do to get so far behind. Missing special services again tonight. Feel worse since I laid down and slept for 2 hours this afternoon.

Heading to bed --- not the bad flu that everyone has been getting (so far, so good anyway!) Just started out as a cold, running nose, cough, now no voice, kinda sore throat. Have to go to work tomorrow!

I was going to do a post tonight, but don't feel like downloading pictures - talk to you later!

I'm saying extra prayers for you. It could be the flu... take care of yourself and let us know as soon as you feel better. Missing you until then.

Good Morning Dawn,
I will be praying that you will get better soon. Your body is just probably tired from helping out with the twins. I do hope it isn't that nasty bug that's been going around. I know you have to go to work today, but don't over do yourself so you don't get worse. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.

Hello, dear friend! I'm so sad you are sick! I got some horrid thing a couple weeks ago, and it was no picnic. I keep thinking that when I get sick, I'll be able to get some of my sit down work done. Um.... I'm not sure why I think that way - it never happens!:)
Thanks so much for stopping by yesterday! Cats really are a critter unto themselves. I love cats, and would really enjoy having one, but my little furry darlings have another kind of love for cats, in fact, I have to hang on to their leashes real tight when they see one! Patches becomes the mad dog Patch when it comes to cats, so I have to enjoy my sister's lovies when I visit. vbs
Well, take care of yourself, dear friend, and I hope that you will be on your feet in a jiffy. btw, have you tried the old fashioned mustard plaster idea? I read up on it on the internet after I was on my way to health, and think the next time I'm sick, I'm going to give it a try. It just might give you that extra boost into wellness. Anyway, forgive my rambling - God bless you!

Stay in bed! Go nowhere. The world can cope in one fashion or another, but you need to look after yourself, my friend. I hope you are better soon.

Oh Dawn....so sorry to hear that you are under the weather. You have had so much on your plate lately and your body must be telling you that it's time for a rest.

Guess if you can't speak you will have to play on the silent computer!!! :)

Hope you feel better soon.

Oh I hope you feel better soon. Take 2 or three days off since you have already gone through the hassle of taking off one!

Oh you poor thing! Get well soon!! Hugs!!!

On another note I read your comment at Barb's. Is your daughter nursing the twins? My first daughter had her days and nights mixed up, seriously. The doctor after months of me not sleeping told me to drink one and only one glass of wine around 8 p.m., before nursing the baby and then in the morning have a large glass of OJ before nursing her to wake her up. It worked. Not over night but it worked although at the age of 27 she is still somewhat of a night owl. Hugs!

Hi Dawn,
I've just been catching up on all your news..The twins have grown so much. They are cute as can be.
(never can start that reading too soon either :)
Loved your Hawaii food post. Everything tastes much better in such a gorgeous setting.
So sorry to hear you're feeling sick. My prayers are with you.

I'll surely be praying for you Dawn. You have made yourself rather indespensible!! They are really going to miss you come August. I don't imagine your shoes will be easy to fill.
Praying you feel well soon. I think you need a few good days of rest. All of the exciting events of the past few months are catching up with you.
I'm going to be praying for Kristen too. It's a difficult time right now.
Take care of yourself Dawn.
Hugs and prayers.

Dawn,

I'm so sorry you aren't feeling well. Be careful. Tired and cough is how my flu started. It just seems to continue advancing.

Please take care of yourself. They will just have to get along without you until you are well, or you will be flat on your back.

Will be praying for you.
Blessings,
Mary

Dawn,

STOP worrying about the office...and crawl back into those comfortable blankets--bring some orange juice or water nearby....and sleep! Get the rest you need. Your body is telling you....SLOW DOWN GRANDMA!

Praying you will be better soon.

I'm sorry to hear you're sick, Dawn. I'm sure this is difficult for the whole family since you must have to stay away from the babies until you're better.

It seems to me it would be simple enough to designate one person who can open the office when you can't. Then all you'd have to do is make one phone call. I've used that system in the past when I was office manager. I gave a set of keys to one person and all it took was one phone call to her.

I can identify; I am on day 10 of the flu and still experiencing severe fatigue.

GET SOME REST!

You poor dear...I do hope it doesn't last too long and that you'll soon feel 100% better. I know how miserable you're feeling because of recently having gone through the same thing. Don't worry about work (I know you will anyway! lol) because they'll have to soon get used to you not working there anymore...let this be practice for them! Thinking of you! xoxo
