The Week in Review

SUNDAY: The challenge: The garbage disposal fiasco.

The blessing: My dad fixed it for us and Mom cleaned the kitchen for me.

The challenge: The crash on the way to church.

It was snowing - I had driven this route many times. However, I do think part of the problem was this - add snow and darkness,

and it is possible that even though I had driven this way many times before, at that moment, the stop sign didn't register on my brain.

A few feet closer --

The blessing: Nobody was hurt. Both cars will be repaired. My insurance will provide a rental (I will pay a bit extra for a minivan - a necessity since Kristen goes back to work this week and we'll be swapping kiddoes at 11:00 every day). The snow melted the next day and helped this to happen:

The challenge: Monday - Thursday: I worked full time, since the other two office people needed to be with their children during spring break.

The blessing: Uninterrupted hours of opportunity to catch up on things that had been back-burnered because of the all-consuming admission process. I finished the paperwork on every single admitted applicant for next year's MSW class - and unfortunately, the denied applicants as well. WOO-HOO (and boo-hoo). Plus I finished a nasty report I'd been putting off.

Thursday was a beautiful spring-like day. There was a Maundy Thursday service within walking distance of my office. One of my friends was singing in the Women's Chorale. It was a lovely service and was another blessing.

Friday night we went to the Good Friday service at Kevin and Sema's church - a blessing indeed.

I did overnight duty with one of the girls at a time a couple nights in order for them to get a bit more sleep at their hours. What a challenge! But what a blessing.

Saturday our church had its annual Easter Marketplace. I wish I had taken pictures, but we took the twins, Care Bear, and Feisty, and I didn't have an extra hand to hold the camera! The tent is set up with booths that could possibly have been in Israel in Christ's time. There are live animals. There is also an indoor egg hunt. People come from all over the neighborhood. We had an incredible turn-out because of the nice weather. This is a tremendous outreach for our church, and we almost always have new people attending services as a result of this huge project.

The weather was nice for the marketplace. Later in the afternoon and evening, here we go again:

Easter Sunday - The temperature when I got up and started dinner was 18 degrees! Pastor must have had word from the Lord that an outdoor sunrise service would probably be cancelled, so we didn't have one planned for this year. The annual breakfast was wonderful, and the services were blessed by God.

By the time church was over, it was 48 degrees. Now, later afternoon it's in the 50s with the snow disappearing quickly - more flowers will be here soon!

Some random Easter pictures - this one is really not very well planned. If it were, I would have closed that closet door! And put away the bag. Oh, well.

Feisty took this one of her mommy.

Sema enjoyed holding one of the girlies - don't ask me which one at this point.

I caught these 3 different sunrise shots this week:

What a whirlwind of a week....and tomorrow is Monday again!!!!!

The Easter pictures are great even with the closet door opened. We all realize that you are a human like us with something in your closets. I'm lucky to get some of my closet doors even closed. :)

The scenery looked beautiful. Looks as though those flowers will be blooming fully in no time at all. YEAH!

I love those pictures where you can just be you and not think about what's in the background! I pray next week is better but still full of blessings!

Busy week, but at least you got a lot accomplished. Here's hoping there's not so much of the negative type excitement for this upcoming week.

I ended up with a steak, baked potato and salad for lunch today. It was so-so, but at least I didn't have to cook it or clean up afterwards.

It's already 35F and we're forecast to get down in the 20's for our low temp tonight. Spring may be here on the calendar but Winter is having a few last gasps.

Have a good week, Dawn. :o)

Love and hugs,

Diane

A week in Dawn's life..... Calm and quiet!!! I can't remember what calm and quiet are supposed to be any more! The photos are lovely, Dawn. It is snowing here again, but not settling, and yesterday's snow was gone by the afternoon. Back to work tomorrow until the end of next week then 2 weeks break for me.

Good Morning Dawn,
I must say you have had a busy week. "PRAISE GOD" no one was hurt in the accident. I'm glad you got alot done at work and I know it will be a big relief for you this week. I loved the pictures of the Snow. That's how our Snow was earlier this month that we got. It started snowing on Friday and by Saturday afternoon, most of it had melted. The twins are really growing. It was 28 degrees when I got up this morning. They had said on the weather last night at 10:00p.m. that the low was to get down to 31 degrees. Well, they missed it a bit I think. LOL. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.

Well, a full week and a blessed week. And even though you had the accident, you all were safe as you have said. Thanks be to God for his great love and mercy; for the richness of life--and that is what you have described---life's richness.

Dawn,

You've had quite a week. I'm glad no one was hurt in the accident. Sometimes when we drive we get thinking of something and lose concentration. It only takes one second.

Love the snowdrops and the crocus. I thought I had missed our snowdrops this year. Possibly not. I need to check out the garden again. I have tulips and hyacinths coming up but haven't checked since last week. I must take a look.

Enjoyed the Easter photos and your closet looks very well organized. I just got through trying to organize my closet that's off the living room. What a task.

Your sunrises are lovely. I think my favorite is the middle one. They are all pretty.

Take care, Dawn.
Blessings,
Mary

It's a blessing that you can see the blessings in your life...even when things aren't going the way you'd like. :-)

I enjoyed all the pictures you posted. That tree in front of the stop sign does need to be trimmed back I think. Yay for the flowers coming up! It has been in the 20's here since Friday. Too cold!
I'm glad you had a nice Easter.

Feisty really is a good little photographer. Don't think I could have taken such an in focus, straight picture at her age! Maybe I'll use that for my new profile pic!

I personally love the pic of you and Dad with the girls. Much more true to life than a perfectly posed and beautiful picture!

I think I'm all caught up with you now Dawn. It looks like you had a really wonderful Easter. I love your "blessings" part of the post. It's amazing what a grateful heart can do for your spirit.
All of the pictures are just beautiful. All you girls look just gorgeous.
I think you will have your hands full once Kristen goes back to work. You are a wonderful Mom (and Grandma) Dawn. Blessings on your week!

What a busy and eventful week!

I love the contrast...blessings and challenges. Yes, it really is about finding the right perspective--isn't it!

I especially love the photo--the one where the closet door is open. Doesn't it just happen that way all the time...the best photos are the ones where there is a closet door open....or something in the background that you wish wasn't!

Sema looks so beautiful with that little darling! So colorful...so bright...so happy!

I need to get some recent photos of our own Easter weekend at the Ranch on my blog---I've tried a couple of times and blogger just stops mid upload. Maybe I need to resize the photos? Who knows! I know--Kristen would know---but ah-yes, she's a little busy these days...isn't she!

Hope you are having a great week. We just got back home from our trip to Texas....and the house is still torn apart due to the refacing that is going on. The blessing--it looks fabulous--the challenge....well...let me think? My house is usually cluttered...it's cluttered for a good reason now. I can't cook because I don't have a range top or oven, sink, dishwasher, or any space on the table to eat...but I rarely cook anywhere.

Looks like there aren't any challenges! I better get ready to go out for dinner....again! Darn, can't make dinner at home when the kitchen is being remodeled! Too bad!

I love the blessings of life!

Great post.

Diane

This was a fun post to read on your challenges and blessings within them!
And I loved seeing all the pictures...Kristen looks so pretty on Easter and Selma in her traditional clothes is lovely, too! And I love the picture of you, hubby and all the granddaughters!

I'm trying to catch up with my blogging friends in these days between bloggy breaks. I keep taking breaks from packing and cleaning to read a few more friends and say hi!
There's a couple Easter picture on my post today, too! Come over if you can!
Hugs,

They need to put that stop sign closer to the street. I think it should come up out of the sidewalk.

It's amazing how the weather is struggling between Spring and Winter...back and forth. But Spring will win!

I loved the Easter picture...DC is draped in girls.
