Anniversary Adventure Part I

First a little catch-up. Emma and the big girls went to the doctor Friday. The big girls have really bad coughs and have been with me for 4 nights. Feisty is the worst and has not been sleeping well at all - which means I haven't either, of course. The babies are back together at home and are sleeping a lot. They're having nebulizer treatments several times a day and have a long ways to go before they have their spitfire personalities back. They tire very easily. Thanks for your prayers, and we ask that you continue. Add all of this to two funerals and it's been one unbelievable week.

It's already been three weeks since our anniversary - such a busy three weeks. But I don't want to waste all those memories and pictures. We left for Estes Park after the morning service on the 28th. We were returning to the cabin we've stayed in 3 times before - the third anniversary trip and one in May.

The trip up was beautiful on a very cold day. I enjoyed capturing the clouds as they hovered over the peaks.

The sun was TRYING to come out, but not very successfully.

I love this little cabin and could stand to live here full time.

Here I am in our "yard."

Three views from "our" deck and bedroom and living room windows. The Fall River is gurgling down below the snow and ice.

When we're not out and about, I'm loving this spot in this chair.

The little tree on the mantle is decorated with a fishing/hunting motif.

We needed this getaway after the busy and hectic and wonderful week with so much family!

But I didn't expect this picture to be taken!

We went to Nicky's for dinner - had their special, Prime Rib. I usually order chicken, but I went with the waitress' advice - and it was delicious. DC is looking mighty satisfied.

I think that's enough for now - I have a surprise for Hootin' Anni in Part II!

I'm glad to hear the girls are getting better but my prayers will continue.

I love the beautiful scenery. The snow covered mountains are breathtaking. I'm delighted you were able to get away after that busy Christmas that you had.

You and DC look so very happy after all of these years and that is a blessing indeed!

Dawn,

Happy belated anniversary! Your trip pictures are gorgeous! I would love to visit there some day.

Those poor babies! I will say a prayer for them. My youngest two are asthmatics and I remember those nebulizer days all to well. I pray they will get better very soon.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog to say hi, Dawn. I really appreciated it.

Looks like you had a wonderful, relaxing trip. Reading and napping in a rocker by the fire sounds wonderful right now.

I hope the girls are feeling better by now.

Happy anniversary! :-)

After reading your comment I came to see what was happening. My goodness Dawn. Flexible it is!
My granddaughter had a couple of hospital stays with RSV. It is truly a frightening experience.
I'm so thankful all the girls are doing better now. I will certainly be praying for all of you. I know you are just exhausted.
I'm sorry to hear about the deaths too. It really seems like things happen in bunches. How wonderful that you had that time away. I love the pictures. It looks like you got some much needed rest :-)
Praying for you Dawn.

I didn't realize it had been so long since I visited. Talk about turning your back for a minute and crisis breaking out!

This was posted Saturday and it's now Sunday evening so I hope by now everyone is well on the way to recovery. Hoping too that you got time to get some rest!

Here's to a better week than last.

Love and hugs,

Diane

Dawn,

The photos of you and hubby are wonderful. I'm glad you were able to enjoy this getaway. It looks so relaxing.

Praying for the entire family. It will take some time to get over this. It is a nasty bug and I'm still not 100%.

I'm off now to read the previous post and do a bit of catching up.

Blessings for a great week.

PS.

I just read your post about the cyst and my youngest aunt gets these. She has my uncle smash them with a heavy book and it has worked without being too painful but they do return. You can get some relief for a while though.

You live in a beautiful state, Dawn. I had the priviledge to visit Estes Park CO back in 1978 and was so impressed with the beauty of nature that I experienced there that summer.
I love vacations that involve cabins in the woods - so why is it that we always stay in condos on the beach? I'll have to do something about that!

Glad to hear the girls are improving, albeit slowly. I'll keep praying for them.

Your pics are BE-A-U-TI-FUL! What a lovely place for a winnter getaway. I'm glad you had a bit of a respite before jumping back into the thick of life again.

Thanks for keeping us updated on the girls. You are an amazing and wonderful Mother and Grandma to help out with the girls so much! I hope you get caught up on some sleep soon.

The pictures you posted are beautiful. So far, your trip sounds heavenly to me! Reading in front of the fire looks so relaxing...I would fall asleep, too!

My computer is in the shop so I am using Hubby's computer. I intensely dislike his keyboard as it is different then mine. Oh how we get used to one thing!

Your pictures of your trip are just spectacular! The cabin is just lovely, I can see why you enjoy it there so much. So glad you got a few days to get away.

So sorry that those dear little girls have been sick. That is so hard on them and everyone. You do so much Dawn. God must have given you an extra dose of energy! Can I have some?????

I gave you an award a few posts back, don't know if you got it or not, will be so glad to have my own compter back!!!!

We have TONS of snow now. Church was canceled yesterday as it was so bad here. We went snowmobiling for a while and had such a good time.

Take are and I will keep praying for the girls. xoxo

I just read about the new coach for the Broncos. Wow. I'm impressed with his choice. I'm now wondering what all the hoopla is about Romanowski...is he going to be part of the coaching staff? Have you heard anything?

I ♥ ALL these photos!!! I ♥ Estes Park!!! Of course, coming from Colorado how can I not? And the unexpected photo of you, dear Dawn, is so so sweet. You look so relaxed and comfy by the fire in your rocking chair!!!

GREAT set of photos you've shared. I'm gonna be sitting in front of the TV real soon, but wanted to stop by and visit with you since you posted the comment about the new coach!!

Have a glorious historical Tuesday. And I'll pop in later to see my 'surprise'. You've really piqued my curiosity now. :o)

It was such fun to see Estes Park with snow. Needless to say, we generally visit during the fall when there is none.

Your cabin looks so warm and inviting. I can understand why you love it so much and I am sure it was just what the doctor ordered after all your entertaining. We can certainly tell you were very relaxed!!!

Hope all the girls are on the mend and glad to hear that it wasn't the dreaded RSV. It has been an unbelievable week for you.

Prayers continue for all.

My prayers continue for all the girls, may they be 100% better real soon!! xoxo

Dawn,

Thank you so much for the very kind, supportive comment you left me on my blog. Hearing that you felt the same way after Kristen was born made me feel much less alone. And I think you may be right about putting Khai in his own room. I'm extremely anxious about it and not quite ready yet, but I really do think that I will sleep better once I make that move.

Thank you again for reaching out.
