The Week-End in Review

It went well. I am really tired, and have yet to get the kids to school tomorrow, but it was a good week-end. I have to say that I have a great deal of admiration for Kristen as she handles this sweet chaos every day - and I even have good help.
I haven't been to the grocery store - we have "made do" all week-end with meals. But I just didn't have the energy to take all 4 of them grocery shopping. We did have to go to Wal-Mart to get a birthday gift for one of Care Bear's friends - the party was at Chuck E Cheese at noon today. Whoever heard of a birthday party at noon on Sunday?? We had to rush from church to get her there. Then we went ELSEWHERE for lunch - anywhere else! My word, I can't believe how many people have birthday parties at that madhouse of a place on a Sunday. She had a good time, and that's what counts. I just hope that I never have to step foot in there on a Sunday ever again. It wouldn't hurt my feelings to never have to go there any day ever again. But I am off the subject. It's always a challenge taking all those little girls shopping for a birthday gift. They have a price limit, so watching them make choices is entertaining (and nerve-wracking). The bad news is that they want one of everything for themselves, too. I keep having to remind them to "focus" - remember why we're there. I never did make it back to the grocery store. Saturday was full of photo ops. Here are a few.

Sure I miss Mommy, but Grandma's okay!

Hey, clean towels make a pretty comfy bed! Maybe I'll sleep here tonight!

Hey, that looks like fun - put me in a basket, too!

Hey, Grandma, that pbj was delish!

Good grief - I thought when Grandma found out that gate didn't work, we had full reign of the steps! This is the pits!

I am SO BIG!!

Let's see if we can pull everything from the closet and the shelves and put them in the middle of the floor!!

Since we made such a mess upstairs, maybe we should help Grandma with the dishes!

They're all in bed sound asleep. Here's hoping and praying they stay that way all night.

Last but not least, here is a bonus that the photographer gave me - she put all of my picture choices into a collage - the picture of the picture isn't the greatest, but you get the idea. I just love it.

IMPORTANT: Please hop over to Smoke Free Mama for a recap of her first 72 hours of nicotine-free life!

Have a wonderful week.

Awww...those girls are the best! It makes no sense to clean during the day with those babies because you pick up a room, and ten minutes later it's a mess again!

Poor babies trying to get up those stairs! How heartbroken they look!

I know they missed mommy, but they'll appreciate it someday when they realize how much healthier mommy is going to be as a result of their weekend with grandma. And I'm sure they did just fine!

Whew! I know you love 'em but you've got to be worn out after all that.

You did break their hearts when you put that baby blocker on the stairs, didn't you? LOL! Who knew a sofa cushion would do it? ;o)

Headed over to Kristen's to check on her weekend....

Love and hugs,

Diane

What cute pictures of the girls. Little ones take a lot of time and energy, but are so worth it.
Chucky Cheese, haven't been there for years, but my grandkids aren't close by.
Have a great week and I hope you get some of your energy back.
God Bless

Gee, Dawn, your place looks like mine did after having ten grands here yesterday. Whew...it is a lot of work!!!!

The girls all look like they are having such fun together - except for the stair access. Too funny.

I'll have to check out Kristen's first few days. It will be so worth it and think of all the money she will save.

Have a great week.

So it was all calm, relaxed and orderly then, Dawn???? You need a medal! Well done for surviving with good humour! But that is what Grannies do best, isn't it!

Dawn I get tired just looking at the pictures of how active these girls are! How on earth do you keep up??
They are all beyond adorable..(the collage is beautiful)
I agree with you 100% about Chuck E Cheese. We actually call it Yucky Cheese (I know, we're terrible!)
Just can't stand that place!

Hi Dawn,

I honestly don't know how Kristen does it all on her own with four little girls! I am so impressed. It looks like they had so much fun at Grandma's house over the weekend. My favorite shot is the one of the big girls stuffing a little girl into a hamper. They're all so adorable! I wish we could have a play date! :-)

Chuck E. Cheese?? Ugh. I'm with you on that one. Too noisy and chaotic.

I'm hoping Kristen will update soon to let us know how today has gone for her. Very exciting. I know you must be so happy she's breaking the habit. :-)

Dawn, I just don't know how you do it! lol All 4 of them are a whirlwind of activity and I get tired just looking at the pictures! They're all so adorable, though, I guess it makes it easier. hehe Oh dear, one of them sure looked upset not being able to go up the stairs:-) We don't have a Chucky Cheese here but they do have them in the Toronto area (5 hour drive from here) and maybe that's a good thing that it's far from here! lol xoxo

I don't know how you do it.

God is giving you the grace and strength...(and joy!)

The pictures are quite entertaining. I'd hate to see what Kristin's house looks like.

What a wonderfull grandma and grandpa you both are!

I'll check on Krisin now...at her public blog.

We lost our power yesterday due to construction in the neighborhood so this is the first chance I have to visit with you. Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comment. It's always nice to have you stop by and keep me company.

LOVE all the photos you shared!!! And, especially the one with the PBJ...so so precious.

Happy Tuesday.

I'm glad you survived the weekend. :-) I'm sure Kristen appreciated you keeping the kids for her. You took a lot of great pictures! I wouldn't have ventured out to the grocery store, either. Walmart and Chuck E Cheese would have been adventure enough!

I love collages. The collage of the twins looks so nice. :-)

Oh Dawn,

These pictures are too precious!! I have to say my favorite two are the pillow blockade at the bottom of the stairs. The one on the left crying and then colapsing in the next. I sure remember these times with mine.:) Busy little beavers. The two older ones look like they are a big help too. They are all adorable and aren't we lucky to have them? I hope you are getting some much needed rest now. I love you girl.

Love and Hugs, Laurie

You are the sweetest mama and grandma! I know it is a joy to have those cuties, but it has to be tiring....I just have two and they're older, but when they go home, I'm tired!

I'm tired just reading the post and looking at the pictures Dawn. Great job!! Really great job!! You are an absolute saint.
Thanks for the info on Grand Canyon. Everyone seems to think one day is enough there, so we're thinking of driving to California after that. Yikes! We've never been and I don't have a clue.
Have as restful a week as possible dear Grandma.

I've figured out what's going on with the Google Followers thing; for some reason in the switch it made me an "Anonymous" follower on some of the blogs I follow.

Now every blog I visit I'm looking at whether my profile pic is on their Follower thingy and having to go into the settings and manually change it to "Follow Publicly" on those my profile pic doesn't appear on even though I know I'm supposed to be following them.

I know, that's about as clear as mud. ;o)

xoxoxo

I give you credit girl. Taking care of the girls can wear you out. You are such a blessing to them. They're all too cute.
