Random Shots Around Here

Strange as it may seem, we're thankful for every single flake that fell all day Thursday - ending up to be 9+ inches here in our town - officially, at least. It looks like more than that to me on these pictures of our picnic site from four days earlier.

But it doesn't take long for it to begin melting into the parched ground once it stops snowing and the temperature goes into the 40s.

The tulips keep pushing their way up.

I have to feel sorry for those which had already bloomed.

Little Miss Kate is taking after Grandma - Chocoholic-in-Training??

Her latest skill is standing alone. Can walking be far behind??

While her sister is working on walking, Miss Emma is more interested in talking. And another less desirable trick!

The big girls were engrossed in the t.v., wearing their adorable hats made for them by Barb. They spent several hours outside today making snowmen and forts, and lobbing snowballs at their cousins, aunt, uncle, and mom. They should sleep well tonight!

But before heading for bed, they let off yet more steam for Grandma. Too bad my camera isn't a bit faster. But you get the idea.

Have a blessed Sunday!

Dawn,

The photos of the girls are precious. Love the somersaults and am glad they got out in the fresh air.

It was a beautiful day here today. We were to get rain, but it must have bypassed us. It was sunny and warm.

Enjoy your Sunday.
Blessings,
Mary

Wow, almost a whole post from your 20 minutes at my house tonight.

I'm sure it's just a matter of days before miss Katie is walking. Hopefully Emma will decide to take after her instead of spending her energy picking her nose.

The girls are all getting so big! It won't be long now until the twins are running everywhere they go.

It was almost 70F when the cold front blew through here this morning. Now it's 40F and headed down into the 30's. The snow missed us by about 100 miles to our west and the tornadoes by about the same to our south.

Have a blessed Sunday and enjoy your Mexican food, Dawn. :o)

Love and hugs,

Diane

It's amazing how one day can look like the beginning of Spring and the next there is a bucketful of snow. Having been born in Southern California...its very interesting.

The girls sure have a lot of energy! They look so cute watching tv in their "hats".

Never a dull moment with all those cute little girls! You definitely got snow Dawn!! I hope that it will help in the long-run. Perhaps it will make things grow even better once it all melts.
Have a blessed sunday.

Good Afternoon Dawn,
The snow is still pretty and it does look like a lot . Have you ever made any Snow Cream? When we got our big Snow last month which was around a foot here where I live at, I made some Snow Cream for me and the girls. The twins have really grown. Walking can't be too far behind now. When they start their walking, LOOK OUT!!!! LOL. They are so full of energy. I only wish I had just a piece of their energy. I went to buy me some Tulips Friday night at Wal-Mart but they were all gone and didn't have anymore. I guess I'll have to wait till next year now. I did buy me 2 Rose Bushes to plant tho. One is white with pink tips and the other one is yellow. Take care my friend and have a Blessed sunday. May GOD BLess you and yours.
Love,
Karen H.
P.S. I love the hats Barb made for the older girls.

Hi Dawn,
Those springtime flowers must be so cold and confused!
Can't believe how fast they're growing. To think they'll be walking and talking soon hardly seems possible.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
xo

I agree, poor tulips. Hope the moisture helps. We are still having flooding issues here, so the snow is not helpful. Your little sweeties sure are cute.

Hello dear Dawn:-)

Hard to believe you and the girls just had a picnic on that table! As you say, though, it will soon all be melted. We've been having freezing rain all day here so now there's a layer of ice over the snow...ugh! I am SO ready for Spring to arrive here, it's not even funny!!!

Loved the pictures of all the girls. Those hats are just darling! It won't be long Katie will be walking, it always seems to follow standing up alone in just a matter of days. As for Emma, well she's obviously discovered her nose! hehe

Hope your Sunday has been a great one so far:-) xoxo

The sculpture show you commented about...is that the one in Benson Park? Bud and I and the kids went there once...long time ago. Like maybe 1987/88? Can't remember the exact year.

I'd LOVE to go back there, I bet there are tons of sculptures by now.

Strange as it may seems....is right!

Living in MN...I can tell you this much...we don't need anymore snow. The Red River Valley is up to it's earlobes in water. What a mess!

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! the photos of the kiddoes. They are priceless! And so ACTIVE! Geesh! I'm tired just looking at the activity in the photos.

Grandma....YOU ROCK!!!!

Love--Diane

Oh, those poor tulips! Amazing you got so much snow. I'm glad the girls had so much fun playing in it!

I can't believe how big the baby girls are! Time really does fly by. I can't believe my baby will ever be so big! And the nose picking? What are you gonna do, right? :-)

Have a great week, Dawn!

Don't you just wish they could share some of that energy? They are so cute!
I can't believe the snow! It was even spitting snow here yesterday - but it didn't stick. I'll not complain about a single hot day this summer.

How cute they look, wearing the hats. :-)

Our babies are at the same stage - Avery's doing the same thing - standing in one spot. I suspect they'll all three just take off running any moment now. And then we're really in for it. LOL

It looks like you've got more snow then we have!!!! Now that's a switch isn't it?! Glad the big girls had such a good time out playing in it, my grands just spend HOURS out in it and come in with such nice pink cheeks. Just what kids should be doing in the wintertime with snow.

Miss Kate is going to be off and going before you know it! Wow, will you guys ever be busy when they both are running around! Good exercise chasing them though, better then the gym!

You asked me a question a while ago and I can't find it. Some thing about kudas maybe???? Does that word sound familar? It was about my Puerto Rico post. I'll try again to look for it. I do try to answer all questions. :o)

Oh, the nose picking. One of mine STILL does it although she hides behind a chair thinking I don't know what she is doing! lol!!

Glad you got some moisture for your dry ground. We've had lots of rain so everything is turning to mud. Yuck, but I guess I shouldn't complain.

My remodel is going sooooooo slow it seems. I know they have to wait for the sheet rock mud to dry before they can add more but I feel like I am camping out with all my stuff on my mother's sideboards that we are using now to get by. Yes, it will be worth it! I can't wait!

Time to get dinner going for the Hubs. It hasn't been anything very fancy since my kitchen disappeared but he's not fussy which makes it good!

Enjoy your snow but keep it in Colorado, we don't want it! lol! xoxox

Sounds like they had a fun day in the snow. Their hats are soooo cute.
I hope you still have some tulips bloom for you.

The girls are adorable. I know I say that a lot, but they are. I love the white hats. The nose picking picture made me laugh.

Wow - that's just a crazy amount of snow.

Such cute pictures of the girls. I am sure that walking will be following shortly -- or perhaps running!!!!

I had heard of the weather from our friends in CS and it sounded like it was quite a storm. Yes, it is all good.

Have a wonderful week.
