Monday Musings

The last few pounds are not coming off as quickly as the first many. I'll keep plugging away. The most unbelievable statistic - 39 inches!

This week has been all about Feisty - her spring music and art show at school, and her 6th birthday.

Thursday night was the music and art show - it was only kindergarteners, which was really fun. After the kids all filed in to the risers, the principal made a couple of announcements, telling the kids to locate their families and wave to them, then give their full attention to the director. Feisty was so excited to the point of giddiness that she didn't quite catch that part of the announcement! (She's the last one in on the left front row).

Then she got into it and sang her little heart out.

Care Bear's art show was the previous Thursday when we wandered around and tried to find her projects on the walls and in the library. It was fun, but this was much more intimate with everything displayed in her room.

Self-Portrait

Wednesday was Feisty's 6th birthday - and it snowed. I called her to ask how she liked having snow on her birthday in the middle of May. She said she liked it because now they'd have indoor recess! She took cupcakes to school for her class, she took cupcakes to church that night for her friends there, she went to Chuckie Cheese with her immediate family, and this afternoon we had cake and ice cream at our house for all the aunts and uncles and grandparents, etc. A "pool party" in her back yard with school friends is still in the works, if it ever warms up enough - one celebrated little girl!!

Big sister read the cards to us --

Both girls have had great teachers this year - and they only have one more week of school. I will miss both of these teachers so much. Feisty has really blossomed this year with the first year teacher who adored her - and the feeling was mutual.

I had to shoot some more pictures of the amazing tulips - they seem to have enjoyed the wet weather this year much more than I have! Enjoy!

Congrats on the weight loss! That is great!

I'm glad she had a good birthday. I wouldn't be so happy if it snowed on my birthday (or any other day for that matter).

She's a cutie!

Loved the flower show!!! I so love flowers y'know. LOL...Can't get enough of 'em.

The week you had was super. What a joy to view all the smiles in the photos. Sweet, sweet girls Dawn.

And your weight loss. Absolutely amazing!!! Your stamina and will power is inspirational.

Now, about the NCIS...the episode about the power and the mimeograph was this season. So, it's not been on USA for sure. You just missed that one. And it's one of the funniest ever....if you have a bit less than an hour [no commercials] you can watch it online for free of course. I had to go look it up for you....

Hard to believe that Feisty is already 6 years old, she was just a couple of years old when when we started blogging:-) She is so adorable and how I would have loved to have attended her music and art show. It's a good thing she wasn't too upset about getting snow on her birthday!! Mother Nature sure has been unpredictable lately!

You have done so well in losing weight as well as inches!! I'm so doggone proud of you:-) You look fabulous and no doubt feel a lot better as well health wise.

The tulips are simply amazing, look at all the various colours! I need to find pink and purple ones, all I have are the yellow and red ones, as well as a few orange ones.

I sold a few things at my yard sale that I got at the auction but I do much better when I sell it on eBay:-) I guess at yard sales people aren't willing to spend more than a dollar or two for something. lol

Good to be back to blogging and visiting:-) xoxo

I just read the first part of your posts about helping relocate the family so affected by the Vietnam
war. But this time I didn't cry as much, and felt more happy tears.

What a wonderful thing your church group did. I believe it will multiply into even greater things
that come about. That is why you must try getting the entire story where people who need to read it, can. Just imagine if one more Vietnam family, or people from other countries saw how they could be helped; what could come from this. It was not happenstance that they found your name when they did.

Now before I write a book here, thanks again for gorgeous pictures, of the flowers, but also the expressions on your grand daughter's face, and that dear little boy standing not so far from her, looking like he might be trying to remember how to do the pledge to our flag.

But back to about the grand daughter. she did a great job when she got into, not just with singing, but how she presented herself, including having her own art show, no less. All your grand children must make you proud, but this kid knows how to please an audience. Some of her Grand Mommy's stamina and inspiration is showing here, and it certainly shows in those too big for you britches you were wearing.

Thanks for another cool post.

Happy Birthday Feisty!

That is so funny about her facing "this way and that" while you were trying to photograph her. She sure looks cute from any direction.

Congrats on the weight loss. That takes so much discipline. You did well! (and just in time for Feisty's upcoming pool party!)

The tulips are so colorful and cheerful.

Hope you've seen the last of the snow!

Congratulations on the weight loss! I love the picture of you in your now way too big pants!

Feisty is so absolutely darling and she was busy looking adoringly at her family! I also thought her self portrait was really good!

And last, but not least, YES I'VE BEEN WAY TOO BUSY! Plus my son has started college (late bloomer) and is over here most afternoons using my computer....then my husband comes home and says "are you attached to that computer?" Speaking of which, I should probably go spend time with him!

Way to go on the weight loss! That is awesome!

Happy belated birthday to Feisty! It looks like she had fun celebrating. I'm glad she had a positive attitude about the snow on her birthday...in May! :-)

What a wonderful post, I am so happy to be able to get back online and catch up with everyone. Your girls sure had a busy week with Feisty's birthday and the school activities! Happy Belated Birthday Miss Feisty! Amazing to have snow on a May birthday! Yikes!

Your tulips are just gorgeous Dawn!!!! The deer eat them here so I can't plant them any more. Can you imagine going out one morning and seeing them all clipped right off just like someone had taken a pair of scissors to them?!

I enjoyed every word and picture about your visit with your Cambodian friends. What a story! It really would have made for a wonderful human interest story for the newspaper. So glad that you all met up again and had such sweet fellowship!

I am so proud of your weight loss!!! That is just amazing! I am trying to follow in your footsteps but have only lost 14 lbs. so far. Even that much has made me feel better but I have a long way to go. :o) Thanks for the inspiration!
