The Photo Shoot

As promised, here are the pictures that were taken a couple weeks ago. (If you don't know the background on these pictures, check out my previous post). It had been 3 years since the twins have had a professional photo. The big girls have had their yearly school shots, which haven't been too bad. But it was high time for everyone to have a fresh look to hang on the walls. There's a young woman who grew up in our church (in fact, Kristen used to babysit her and her siblings), who has recently begun her own photography business. She specializes in birth photography and is becoming adjusted to middle of the night calls. She likes to do creative photography more than posed shots, but I talked her into taking more formal photos of the twins and the four together. (One thing really odd - the twins' dresses are a deep purple, but always turn out looking royal blue in photos - the ones we took and these as well).

It was an unseasonably warm January afternoon in Colorado, so we took got them dressed up, took a blanket outside, and here are the results. I love them and will have a hard time with the ordering of prints.

Here comes Michelle's creative part - she told me she wanted to shoot the girls cooking or baking something together. I decided that muffins would be the easiest, so I set out everything they needed, they changed their clothes (all in animal prints, as it turned out) and she began clicking away. It was fun.

They all got their licks in, but Katie was licking the spoon more than the others.

They even offered to do the dishes - so I had to get it immortalized!

They were delicious!

BTW, I just learned that our photos are being stored in a cyber spot that filled up without my knowing I even had an account. Did you know this? I had to order a bigger storage area - not expensive, but I didn't know anything about it until I got a message that I couldn't load any more, right in the middle of this post. I was shocked.

Have a great week!

So adorable and those dresses have such a rich color to them, even if the color is different in photos! Hey , so how much did you have to pay for added storage? I have heard about this. Is this picassa or what? is it a one time fee?

ps--how did they contact you about the added storage?

Great pictures! I love that they baked the muffins together!

I sure don't know if mine are being stored somewhere. Did they send you an email? And it was for real and not a scam?

Oh I do love pictures Dawn, and these are just amazing.

I can see how it would be hard to choose. I really like the one where she is watching the muffins bake.

I have read in other blogs about having to pay for picture storage. It would be nice to know how much you get for free and how full your storage is, wouldn't it?

Beautiful photos, Dawn. Your photographer friend is very talented!

Dawn--it is strange because I do have more pictures then the 700 something you spoke of and it says I have only used about 1 and a 1/2 percent of my available storage. Not sure then about all of this. I have multiple blogs too. So I can't figure it out!

What great pictures and what fun to have the updated ones!!!!!

I had to order extra space a couple of years ago. As you said, it isn't expensive, but just unexpected.

Dawn, I have heard others, not being allowed to post pictures until they paid, so I think it is true-----

Oh Dawn, the pictures are adorable! I absolutely love the outdoor ones and the ones where they're making muffins, such fun shots!!! Hey, guess what, I actually received a picture of Chloe today...Wendy sent it from her phone. I was in shock! lol She's changed so much since we saw her at Christmas, quite the little darling:-)

I've been paying for Google storage for my pictures for the last couple of years now. I take the cheapest one, it holds enough storage space for a year for me.

Have a great week my friend. xoxo

Dawn, Dawn!!! What a fantastic share for us on this post.....they're all such super photos of such wonderful gals. You should be so proud. Y'know it's difficult choosing 'my favorite'...but since you added the one for your header ---I think I like that one best of all!! [and a few of the photos show purple on my computer]

Now, any leftover muffins? "Got Milk"?!!!

Oh, and PS...yesterday, when Bud and I were outside doing the weeding...the iris you sent --- one of them has a bud!!! Cool, huh?

Beautiful pictures of all your precious girls! Just wonderful!!! The dresses are so pretty and on my computer I can see the deep purple.

I will not be going to see Mary. :o( Yesterday my Dad fell off a ladder and has a brain bleed and is in ICU at the Tampa hospital. We were supposed to be headed out now but the plane had issues so we aren't leaving for a couple more hours unfortunately. I really wanted to get there at 1 and pick up my mother and head to the hospital which is 45 minutes away. He held his own last night but I haven't had a chance to speak to the neurosurgeon yet. Doing things over the phone is awful with all the rules and privacy issues!!! Very frustrating. Please keep him and my Mom in your prayers, she is beside herself and doesn't understand how serious this is. I will be staying down as long as they need me and we may bring them home if this is going to be a long recovery. They may have to put a shunt in and I don't know how involved that is but I would think putting something in your brain is very serious. Will let you know more when I know more! xoxoxox

She did such a great job with the girls. I love the pictures. I especially like the outdoor shots. (easier to shoot then a kitchen). But the kitchen photos are a lot of fun.
