Thanks for your Prayers

Just a quick update - DC's procedure was at 3:30 (see yesterday's post). He was home by 4:30, not too much worse for the wear. He didn't seem to suffer any pain, but it wasn't fun in any sense of that word. Now the waiting game begins for the results sometime next week. I know he has anxiety, since my brother went through this exactly two years ago and it was cancer. Brother's doing great, by the way!

DC came home at noon to prepare himself mentally for the ordeal, I believe. Feisty had the chance to play with Grandpa all by herself for quite awhile, and it was fun to watch. It kept his mind occupied in a very positive way. She wondered where he went, so we told her he had to go to the doctor. The look of concern on her little face when he got home and she looked up at him and said, "Are you okay, Grandpa?" would melt the heart of anyone who has one.

A chinook wind is blowing today (a warm, dry wind that blows at intervals down the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains). Really blowing. It was 47 degrees this morning, as opposed to 5 degrees yesterday. Here's hoping for some more melting!

We'll have the kiddoes this week-end as Kristen and Mike celebrate their 5th anniversary. Care Bear can hardly wait for the sleep-over. We hope to take them swimming out at Great Grandma C's place - she is in assisted living, but still gets to use all the amenities. She loves to get in the water with them at age 88.

I will be a great-aunt again today. Chad and Amanda will have a boy today to join sweet Ella. The name is still up in the air, so we're anxious to hear what they decide. That will make my 13 on my side of the family and 8 on DC's side. All adorable, of course.

I must get busy on those blasted gpa calculations! Have a wonderful Friday.

Uhhh...Chad and Amanda are having their baby today? That would have been nice to know.

Also nice to know is that you plan on taking them swimming. Guess I'd better dig around and find their suits.

Feisty's got such a sweet heart. Hope all turns out well with the biopsy. I will pray for for DC.

The slumber party sounds like fun! How wonderful that Kristen and Mike have someone to watch the kids for their 5th! :)

You'll have a busy weekend! That must be an indoor pool?
I'm not yet a great aunt. One of my brothers has children the same age as my grandchildren, so I'm guessing it will be a ways down the road!
Prayers will be continuing for your husband. Waiting for test results is never easy...
((hugs))

The really good news about this type of condition is that is it the most successfully treatable, if it turns out to be cancer. His prognosis should be excellent.

I meant "is that it IS the most successfully......"

(and I even proof-read before I sent it!)

I'm sure he's glad to have the biopsy done and over with but as you said, now it's the waiting game and that can get the imagination going everywhere! My prayers are still with him!!

Have fun with the kiddies:-) They may keep you busy but it's all worth it isn't it!! Hugs xox

Kids can be so sweet and intuitive. Glad she was around to occupy Grandpa. I pray that all is well with him and that his mind/emotions will be protected as well while he waits for the results. God bless you both.

Yes! Get to work on those GPA calculations! Hurry up! LOL

Believe me I know, there's not one single pleasant thing about the test he had done. Ask Rob. But I will say this. Even if it were prostate cancer, that's one of the slowest growing cancers there is and most men fully recover from it. My Dad did. My husband didn't have to but he's smart enough to get checked regularly.

47 degrees! You must be ready to go lay out in the yard and sunbathe! LOL It's sunny here, too, but not warm enough for me. Not by a long shot. Still, compared to yours, our winter has been downright boring. :-)

Hope Kevin's getting over his headache. I'm ready for his next installment!

I'm a great aunt a dozen times over. Well, Danny and Mikki's baby will make it a dozen. Unless I miscounted; that's always possible.

I know you're anxious to find out the results of that test, but try not to dwell on it.

Happy Weekend, Dawn! :-)

I know that waiting is no fun at all. I'm praying it will all be fine.
Have fun with the grandkids this weekend. You guys are just wonderful - you do so much.
I'd help you with those calculations, but believe me - nobody would be happy:) Anything that smacks of math makes me have a headache.
Enjoy the weekend!!
