The Denver Blizzard of 1913

I've done a lot of posting about the Blizzard of 2006 in Colorado. This year's blizzard accumulation was the largest since 1913. I love these pictures of a much simpler time.

That's a lot of snow! Those are great photos. :)

I'm very glad we've had a mild winter here in Munich. We really only had one week of winter weather where it snowed and the temperature was below freezing. The rest of the winter has been very springlike, which has been fine by me!

I love the picture with the signs and the children sledding down the street. It's always fun to see pictures of the past :-)

These are beautiful photos....very descriptive...they DO look just like what I imagine 1913 and Colorado would look like.

Does that make any sense?

Beautiful. Well, beautiful, if I didn't have to live through it!

Great pictures, but I wouldn't want to live in that. I'll send you some California sunshine OK!!

What great photos, Dawn. You know, I think I may have lived in an attic apartment with my first husband in one of those houses in the fourth photo. LOL

I love those pictures. I think we almost had it worse this year, though. Where did you find those?

I love the boys on their sleds, what a classic!

That's an amazing amount of snow. Is that fourth picture down one of that historic row of houses in Denver? I've stayed in a B&B along there.

I so love all these old pictures!! Gosh that sure was a lot of snow and they didn't have the equipment for snow removal that we do now. Love that last one with everyone sledding in the middle of the street! lol xox

Colorado weirded me out. We visited in September and were met with 3 snowstorms - and people think Maine has winter!

The photos are awesome. Life must have just came to a standstill during and after a blizzard!
