The big day finally arrived - we had lunch with Barb. Add in Aaron and Mandy; Krissy and Cameron; Kristen, Care Bear, and Feisty; and my husband, DC, and we took up quite a bit of space at a place chosen for cost, not ambience! Taco Bell/KFC was close to the exit. I don't think Barb was too thrilled with her taco salad! If we do this again next year, we'll definitely choose a classier place to eat. But it was fun anyway.

Aaron and DC were the only guys. Krissy and Mandy made up for lost time at the other end. In between was a bit of chaos and putting voices to faces to stories. A fast and furious hour and a half.

I just discovered that this is the only glimpse of Care Bear.

I absolutely adore this picture of Cameron and Feisty getting acquainted - note the mac and cheese face! Aren't they just the cutest little pair??

Can you see the wild snow going on outside? It was a freezing cold day with huge flakes of snow. None stuck though, because it was 80 degrees on Saturday.

It was fun comparing baby bumps on Krissy and Kristen, who are due within two weeks of each other.

Of course, Barb couldn't come without bearing gifts. I should have been the one giving gifts! But she gave Kristen and me each one of these care packages. Care Bear instantly claimed the Santa star from Kristen's package, but I was selfish with mine!

It was short and very sweet, but I am so glad we were able to connect for a few precious minutes. On the way home, Care Bear said she was going to call Barb "Girlfriend Grandma." It fits!

One final picture - check out the difference between my yard and Barb's! Good thing Care Bear LOVES to rake. But now Grandpa has mowed them all up and wrecked all the fun.

I am so envious that you got to meet Barb, Krissy and Cameron, Dawn. But I suppose if one of my blogging buddies had to get to MIRL with Barb before me, I'm glad it was you. ;o)

Of course I'm also jealous that Barb got to MIRL with you, too. ;o)

Boy, talk about fickle weather! It's been a bit like that here, too, but not as extreme as yours!

Your comment came to my email as I'm typing this. ;D

Have a great week, Dawn.

Love and hugs,

Wasn't it so amazing, the way we just started talking a mile a minute, like we'd known each other forever? I so enjoyed meeting you and Kristen and DC and the sweet little ones. I'm still overwhelmed at how much fun we had in such a short time.

I had the feeling that if we'd had three whole days together, we'd never have stopped talking and laughing with each other.

You got great photos! I think I did too but I haven't had time to check yet. LOL

You can't imagine how I worried about those pumpkin cookies on this trip. They just get more and more moist when they're in an air tight container and I swear I kept them in the best temperature controlled environment I possibly could, given your CRAZY weather over there. :-)

I'm so glad we had this time to meet each other, Dawn. I wish it could have been longer. Next deer hunting season, I'll do my best to allocate more time for a visit with you.

And yeah, Taco Bell taco salad isn't my idea of heaven but you know, who cares? I only ordered something to eat because it seemed like I should. I wasn't even hungry! LOL

Next time? Maybe all of you can come out west and we can have you here with us.

I loved it. I'm so, so glad I met you and your sweet family.

How fun to be able to meet another blogging buddy. Sounds like a great time!

I love those leave pictures!

Your weather does sound crazy. I can't imagine it snowing...and then it being 80 degrees. It sounds like summer and winter are still fighting with each other!

Thanks for checking on me. I'll email soon. It's very busy over here. I hope it calms down soon.

I just put up my Dead Sea Scrolls Saturday adventure. When you get a moment, I'd love for you to stop by, again.

What fun Dawn! I love it that the connections we begin in "cyberspace" have such substance. It takes only seconds to feel like you've been friends for forever.

This is just so great! I loved reading about your get-together and seeing all the photos!

You know, I have yet to meet MIRL one time...just e-mails, no face to face or even phone calls! I'm going to have to remedy this some time, because this looked way too fun!

As I told you in the email, I couldn't comment last night, but it seems like Blogger is on better behavior today.
How wonderful that you were able to meet Barb and her family! I'm sure she's just as delightful in person as she appears on her blog.
You are going to have three grandchildren between you that will be so close in age. Think of the fun on the next meeting!!
