Happy Mother's Day!!

My First Mother's Day, 1975

Wearing the first of many mother-daughter outfits which I so enjoyed making.

How about that 70's polyester plaid suit on DC? Of course, Kristen's and my outfits were polyester double knit as well.

Every year the Women's Ministries of our church provides us with wonderful fellowship opportunities. We have many talented women, who give of themselves selflessly. One of those occasions is the Mother's Day Tea. The men serve us and it is such a treat. I wish I had taken pictures of the lovely finger foods. Everything was delicious.

Don't you just love this bow tie?

This is our dear pastor doing his part.

Before we were served, we had a tongue-in-cheek lesson in proper tea party etiquette.

My mother-in-law, my sister-in-law, and her daughter-in-law.

Ruth is on the left - the Ruth you prayed for when she had surgery two weeks ago. She is doing so well. My sister is in the pink jacket, and her daughter-in-law is on her left.

My dear mom.

And, of course, Grandma Dawn with Kate and Emma.
Their mommy and sisters weren't at the tea, because they were celebrating Feisty's birthday at the amusement park in Denver, along with the two grandpas.

I hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day!

I love the matching Mother-daughter outfit!
The Mother's Day Tea looks like a fun time. It looks like a lot of preparation goes into it. That was nice of you to bring the twins, so Kristen could focus on Feisty's birthday party! You are a great Mom and Grandma. :-)

Happy Mother's Day!

What a delightful day! Your pictures are wonderful! Years ago when we lived in California, our church always had a mother daughter tea Mother's Day weekend. I miss that.

Love your first Mother's Day photo! Looks like you had a lovely Mother's Day yesterday, as well. As to bow ties, Raf wears them a lot!

It looks like you had a perfectly wonderful Mothers Day. The pictures tell the whole story - even the stunned look on the pastor's face. That is priceless!

So glad to see Ruth doing so well.

And, WOW, those polyester outfits are something else. How we all loved their easy care after all the ironing we did.

Man, I didn't realize how much my babies look like I did when I was a baby.

Emma and Katie are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kristen said...

I just realized that in the same comment I said how much my babies look like me and then gushed over how cute they are. That would then mean I am saying how cute I am (was). That's not what I meant to do. I'm really not that egotistical!!

But you were ADORABLE!!!

That makes me chuckle---that the 2 grandpas went to the amusement park to celebrate Feisty's birthday. Good for them!

Nice pictures. You have a way of making us feel like we're right there.

Enjoyed seeing Ruth--glad she is doing okay!

Great shot of your pastor. Most becoming. (He must be a good sport--especially if he knows your posting his picture on your blog!)

Great post all around!
