March Monday

How can it be March?? It is a shiny, cold day with a bit of fresh snow on the ground. Very little. March is traditionally our wettest month, and that doesn't mean rain. I'm looking forward to some color sometime this month.

I found these the first week in March last year. . .

Then - at the end of the month - just before April ---

I have to say that the last two weeks have been tough. The flu bug has wreaked havoc on the family - everybody but me so far. Kristen, Feisty, Katie, Care Bear, and Grandpa all have had some form of flu or another. Miss Emma has a really bad cold today and is really cranky. I was giving them baths, which usually calms them. Emma was crying in the tub when I heard Katie humming "You are My Sunshine" - the song Kristen always sings to them when they're upset. It was a sweet moment in a stressful morning.

Stressful two weeks - I have had the girlies for the better part of two weeks. And it looks like a lot of this week will be more of the same. Kristen ended up in the hospital last night with some chest pains and shortness of breath. Pretty scary stuff. Please pray for her and for us. They're running every test known to man.

UPDATE: Kristen just called to say that after every test, every prick, all the medical procedures, they decided she has bronchitis and are sending her home with an antibiotic. Seems like a lot of overkill! They say that all of the problems she's had in the last two weeks are related. I don't know - but at least she's coming home.

I'm trying to live within my "word of the year" - TRUST. It is difficult. I am trying to follow these 3 scriptures that were in my devotional today and know that the post I did on Facebook Friday is true today - "

When you get to your wit's end, you'll find God lives there. (Unknown source)

I want to pay attention to what I posted yesterday on FB -

'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, Just to take Him at His word, Just to rest upon His promise, Just to know, "Thus saith the Lord." (Louisa M.R. Stead)

Here are the verses I am standing on today:

Matthew 6:20 - For this reason I say to you, "Do not be anxious for your life, as to what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor for your body, as to what you shall put on. Is not life more than food, and the body than clothing?"

Luke 12:25-26 - Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest.

Psalm 29:11 - The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with peace.

So - I am struggling with worry/trust, knowing which I should be doing.

While Miss Emma is sleeping this morning, Miss Katie is enjoying being by herself with me and playing with everything she can find -

and reading ---

Dawn, I have had this Scripture verse present itself several times in the past few days...I am clinging to what the Lord told Hezekiah:

..."I have heard your prayer and seen your tears. I will heal you."

You are all in my prayers. ((hugs))

Dawn, my prayers go out to Kristen, you and all your family. The promises you are leaning on - and have leaned on - are precious and oh-so-true.

I love your signs of spring pics and the ones of your precious little grands!

Just continue to "hold to God's unchanging hand" . . . "weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning." I hope your "morning" is soon!

I think our March this year is going to have a lot of snow since we had such a mild February.

A lot of people, including our family, have had the stomach flu this year. I hope you stay healthy and everyone gets better soon! Poor Kristen went through a lot to find out she has bronchitis.

Dawn I am praying for strength for you as it seems you have a heavy load so much of the time. I think it's only through God's grace that we get through these times and cling to the verses that you put in your post plus one of my all time favorite songs, Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus! Trust is sometimes a hard thing to do, I know I struggle with it at times. Do hope you are all done with that nasty flu and that Kristen gets over the bronchitis soon.

The story about the picture in your last post is just amazing! I used to watch that show regularly when it was on. If reruns come on I will look for the picture!!!

We are getting the heavy winds from that storm that has been coming up the east coast. Not much snow out of it but lots of power out in many places. We have not lost ours! Yea!

Take care of yourself dear friend, you always seem to be caring for someone else. xoxoxox

It sounds like you have really had more than your share of health problems in the family lately. I am so glad that Kristen's problems are just due to bronchitis. They can hopefully treat that easily with antibiotics.

I will be keeping you in my prayers. Take care of yourself too!!!

I am so sorry to hear that you have all been sick. I will be praying for your daughter and for you as you pick up the slack for her. She and her children are very blessed to have you to care for them.

So sorry you have all been hit so hard. We have had it here too. It seems like the stomach thing and a cough and sore throat all go together... or follow each other.

Praying she will be fine soon and all of you will be better soon.
The flowers will come up (o: Loved the scriptures.

I liked the last post about the picture...how cool. Women had such hard life's then didn't they?

I love the two photos of Katy....they're so adorable. I do hope that the flu bug boogaloos outta your household soon. That can be so nasty when everyone is cranky and down and out!! I'm glad to hear the "K" is back home. That's scary.

And snow...ya, it can so easily be there, I know. Here, today it's supposed to be around 70...yesterday it was 75 in our yard. Yum....I'm loving it. For now. LOL

You take care,.....don't tire yourself out now and come down with the flu!!

Sounds like you've had more than your fair share of sickness and worry. My prayers are with all of you and especially for Kristen's health.
My Mom and Grandma sang "You Are My Sunshine" to me and I always sang it to my own two and grands.
It's raining here but my daffodils are blooming, so spring is just around the corner.
Stay strong and keep smiling!!
xoxo

I'll be praying for you all!

"Tis so Sweet to Trust in Jesus" is such a precious hymn.

We don't have to understand, or figure things out...just trust.

Bless your hearts, I can't imagine the whole family being sick at the same time. For that matter, I can't imagine taking care of 4 littles at the same time even if they're all healthy, and I'm younger than you!

Hope Kristen is feeling much better soon so you can have a break, my friend.

Love and hugs,

Diane

Wow, sounds like some difficult times. Hope your daughter's diagnosis was correct and that all is related to the bronchitus. Hope you remain well!!!!!!

My MIL did die last week on Feb 24. It has been hard, but thankfully she died peacefully in the Lord and the end was not prolonged.
