Yet Another Update

I hope someday to have a non-Christmas-y look on this site. Unfortunately, my technical guru is in the hospital, awaiting the birth of twins.

And back to that subject - Kristen now has more details. Emma and Kate will begin their arrivals at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, January 7. This is a change of plans, for which I am grateful. I know it sounds crazy, but I have a very full day on Sunday with the mission program of our church. I've arranged for missionaries from Ethiopia to be here, and I need to take them to lunch after church. That evening, the children who went on the Navajo project delivery trip are going to give their presentation.

Now, I know - I would have missed those things in a heartbeat for these new babies and their mommy, but this way it is the best of all schedules. Not only that, I will be privileged to be in the OR with Kristen and her husband. One of us will head to the NICU with the firstborn and the other will stay with Kristen.

The ultrasound today resulted in these stats: Big Squirt (more than likely to be Kate) weighs 3 pounds 15 ounces. Little Squirt (most likely Emma) weighs 2 pounds 15 ounces. Big Squirt weighs enough to be born "normally" but LS doesn't. Almost 4 and almost 3 pounds is not bad.

Stay tuned - more to come! Thanks for your continued care and prayer!

P.S. I need to clarify that the only reason I'll be in the OR is that there have to be 2 people in there - one of us will go to NICU with the firstborn, and the other will stay in with Kristen. That's what I understand at this point. It will be my privilege to be one of those two - her husband the other, naturally! DC said it so well yesterday: "How can you love someone so much that you've never even seen?" How indeed?

Oh, I will be praying! My oldest child weighed in at 3 lbs and 11 ozs. back in the day where there wasn't a lot of extra help. He did fine! And what beautiful names!

Dawn,

I'll be praying! I will be thinking of you and the family!

I'm on my youngest son's computer...because my computer broke! I can't seem to get on my blog and I can't get my email. My computer is at the shop. I will check your blog via my son's computer to see how things are going with you.

I'm glad the timing worked out better for everyone, Dawn. And how fortunate you are that you can be in the operating room.

Krissy's having a c-section but I'm not allowed in there - just her husband.

I'll bet there's some shopping for teenie tiny preemie outfits going on around there. All in pink. I'm very excited for all of you but you can bet I'll be on my knees at 12:30 on Monday.

Good Morning Dawn,
"THANKS" for the update on Kristen. I will go by and visit her shortly. I will continue to pray for them as well. It is great that you can be in the OR when the Girls are born. I had both of mine by C-Section as well. I just wanted my DH to be in there with me and he was both times. The first time he said that when they pulled our daughter out, the whole room lit up. He said he didn't know if someone in the OR done it or it was a light from God. Anway, it is an awesome experience. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.

Hugs,
Karen H.

How good God is Dawn - He is there even in the details. I'm glad you'll get to do the program on sunday.
I feel a real attachment to these tiny ones myself. We've been praying for them for a long time. How exciting to be able to be right there with Kristen - so different from when I had my babies.
I pray the Lord's presence will fill your hearts as you wait for these two little precious ones.
Blessings to all of you!

Thank you Dawn for the update. I will definitely be praying on Monday for Kirsten and the girls.

God is so good...his plan was already in place for your program to continue today. I know that it will be inspiring for all who attend.

I will pray for you and DC to get a restful nights sleep so that you will have the energy that you will need for all of the love and excitement coming your way tomorrow!

(((HUGS)))
