I haven't been posting the ticker too often, because it gives me a panic attack when I realize how much I have to do before that ticker winds down to the last day.

Today is graduation day for the MSW students I work with. It will be my last graduation celebration as their "Mother Dawn." I may go back next year to see this year's first year class graduate, because I feel very attached to them. But this graduation today marks the end of my task of shepherding them through the intense process of graduate school. It will be a bittersweet day.

I have many things I would like to say today. I cannot say them. Our friend, Linds, said it so well a few posts ago when she talked about how we only show parts of ourselves out here to our friends in blogland. We cannot be totally vulnerable. But we do know that we pray for each other when we have a need. It has been proven over and over - the little healthy twins are proof of that!

I can't write what is happening right now. I just need you to pray. It has nothing to do with physical health. But it is urgent. It is what we call an "unspoken request" in our church. Please, if you think of us, pray.

I told you I've been reading through the Message in chronological order. The Psalms are sprinkled in, and I've been highlighting many passages that stand out. Someday I want to share everything I have highlighted. But today, these are holding me up.

In Psalm 20: "That clinches it - help's coming, an answer's on the way, everything's going to work out."

In Psalm 27: "I'm asking God for one thing, only one thing: To live with him in His house my whole life long. I'll contemplate His beauty; I'll study at His feet. That's the only quiet, secure place in a noisy world, The perfect getaway, far from the buzz of traffic."

Also from Psalm 27: "Stay with God! Take heart. Don't quit. I'll say it again: Stay with God."

From Psalm 32: "Be brave. Be strong. Don't give up. Expect God to get here soon."

From Psalm 34: "God met me more than halfway, he freed me from my anxious fears. Look at him; give him your warmest smile. Never hide your feelings from him."

From Psalm 34: "If your heart is broken, you'll find God right there; if you're kicked in the gut, he'll help you catch your breath."

From Psalm 36: "God's love is meteoric, His loyalty astronomic, His purpose titanic, His verdicts oceanic. Yet in His largeness nothing gets lost; Not a man, not a mouse, slips through the cracks."

Praise His Name!

I hope you enjoy your last graduation as "Mother Dawn". I'm sure the first year students are bummed that you won't be a part of their graduation next year, but they'll appreciate you being there. :-)

You will be in my prayers.

Dawn,
I will surely be praying for you. I have "camped out" in the Psalms for a couple of years now. It seems like no matter what I'm going through there is something in them that speaks directly to my spirit.
Praying for you friend.

Dawn -

I actually came over to visit today to see if I had missed your retirement party because I didn't think I'd see your ticker the last couple times I'd been by. Thanks for the update on that.

And also, thank you for the opportunity to pray for your need, to lift your request to the Father, who knows what we need before we even ask. Continue to bask in these scriptures - He will be your Stronghold.

I'm praying, Dawn, and I'll put y'all on our prayer list in Sunday School.

Y'all hang in there. As another of the Psalms says, "Hold on my child; joy comes in the morning. Weeping only lasts for the night."

Love and hugs,

Diane

Dawn,

I am praying for your unspoken request. Denise is correct. God knows our every need and what is in our hearts before we even ask. I will ask that He allow you peace with the situation. Praying for you and your family.

I have spent a lot of time in urgent prayer this weekend and I believe those promises with every ounce of my being. Isaiah 54:10. :)

Oh, Dawn, I will be praying for your unspoken! We all have so many of those. I've been reminded several times over the past few days and weeks that God is never taken by surprise. He knows what is coming and is prepared to hold us in His everlasting arms during every storm.
Love to you my friend, Nancy

Here it is Monday and I see you didn't post at all over the weekend, so I hope all is OK there, Dawn. I read this post quickly Friday evening but didn't have time to comment (both little ones were here that night). Just wanted you to know that you were in my prayers this weekend.

I know the thought of retirement is scary. But I'm betting you'll be busier after you retire than you are now, while you're working. I'm proof that that can happen.

Dawn

Thank you for your prayers and all the others in Hearts in "1" Accord. Susan forwarded your message to me and I wanted to thank you personally. It is a comfort to know others care and are praying for me.

I love the verses you posted. I keep a list myself and I cannot tell you how much comfort they bring to me. I have copied your verses today and will add them to my list. Here are a few of my favorites:

Psalm 56:3
What time I am afraid, I will
trust in thee.

Philippians 4:6-7 and 13
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

Psalm 91:14-15
The Lord says, "Those who love me, I will deliver; I will protect those who know my name. When they call to me, I will answer them; I will be with them in trouble, I will rescue them and honor them."

Mark 11:24-25
Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.

I've enjoyed my visit here to your blog. I see you are requesting prayers too and I want you to know I will pray for you.

Hugs to you sweet friend!
Kat

Will pray. Good verses.

Our problem is multiple but my Father in law (who oversaw my mother-in-laws care at the nursing home she is in) has had a very serious stroke. I am spending my time between my mother-in-law--helping to feed her and my father-in -law (who also needs help with feeding---my husband has been helping in his feeding). Thankfully my father-in-law will get 100 days in a rehab if he doesn't have another stroke and then we will see where we go from there. Thanks for prayers
